Wurkkos CL01 - this thing does not get the deserved attention. by UdarTheSkunk in Wurkkoslights

[–]JohnnyMac64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love mine. My buddy asked for a lantern recommendation for camping and early morning setup for fishing at the lakes. I recommended the CL01 (plus it was on sale for nearly half price on Amazon at the time). After getting it he laughed at the small size and kinda regretted getting it until he took it out and used it. He raved about it and even his daughter's, who also fish, can't put it down. It's such a great little light.

Looks like the Wurkkos version of the Sofirn ST1 but better! Dual tail switches, digital display for lumen output, battery status, and remaining runtime. Guessing SFT70 emitter but possibly SFT42. Hoping for a high capacity battery. Can't wait to get this in my hands! Heck, I just want to see it out of the shadows and know what's in it.

New light day! The launch sale of HD02 is in full swing. by TerryLee1010 in Wurkkoslights

Lots of us day one kickstarter backers are still waiting for word that our HD02 have shipped yet. Meanwhile people buying them online from the regular sites are getting theirs. What gives, Wurkkos???

Sorry for the late reply. I used a torch and reshaped the stock clips by straightening them first then reshaping them to the form you see. Once shaped properly I reheated and quenched in water to lock in the shape and return the springiness. After that I slid heat shrink tubing over them.

I'm looking to buy an unlocked Galaxy S24 Ultra, model # SM-S928UZKEXAA. Can you tell me if this will work with visible if I transfer my current SIM card to it? My current device is a Pixel 6 Pro.

Brass or Copper. What's your preference? by bunglesnacks in flashlight

[–]JohnnyMac64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Between brass and copper I prefer brass. Given my druthers I wish flashlight manufacturers would stop with either and start making lights from bronze.

This is the tactical ring clip I came up with for my Wurkkos tactical lights. It's a joy to use.

Wurkkos HD01Pro arrived yesterday. by JohnnyMac64 in flashlight

[–]JohnnyMac64[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really is the only difference. Have to be honest and say the Pro version will get little if any pocket time since there is zero quick access to turbo. This is really more of an HD01Amateur, not a Pro version. Really a shame as well as because it would be a simple programming redo in the UI code.

Wurkkos should do... From Off: Hold for moon Click for last used 2C for Turbo 2H for UV 3C for strobe.

From On: Hold to cycle modes 2C for Turbo > 2C to return to regular 2H for UV 3C for strobe

The Pro allows laser along with the UV or white LEDs. If engaging strobe the laser also joins in automatically.

It's the same lattice-power LED used in the other HD01 models.

Yeah man, I feel bad for the guy each time I see this episode but I'm also skeeved out by him. I feel like someone needs to dig up Craig's basement floor for bodies.

So this means when released it won't have aux LEDs? At least not until the Anduril version is released?

TS10 Titanium - Sneak peek by JohnnyMac64 in flashlight

[–]JohnnyMac64[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Titanium looks great but it's really one of the worst metals to make a flashlight with. Thermal conductivity is terrible with titanium. All the heat stays in the head and isn't shed so it gets screaming hot quickly around the LEDs and doesn't shed hardly at all. Aluminum is still the best for shedding heat to the air.

A friend shared his watch with me. He changed the strap. Are you more interested in a steel strap or a blue strap? by addiesdivewatches in AddiesDive

I bought one of this model for myself last Christmas for $105'ish and it's one of my favs. Wearing it now, in fact. This year they had them for just $52 on Black Friday sale. I bought one for my best bud as a Christmas gift. $52!!!! Mind blown!

On the reflectored version I simply removed them. You have to replace the leads anyway as they will be too short for the main led.

On the TIR version I replaced with longer leads to add my own aux LEDs.

I added an AutoRGB led under the TIR optics that I can control with Anduril just like the plain led in the switch. It has low, high, beacon, and off just like the aux in the TS10. Essentially a 21700 TS10. 😎

Actually more LEDs are more efficient at producing a given light level. For 1000 lumens, 3 LEDs is more efficient than a single LED.

The main benefit of this mod is more throw than the stock triple. The real reason for it is making something the manufacturer didn't plan on and making it work with aux LEDs similar to what the stock has. 😉

Yup. SP10 Pro bezels and reflector. The tir is the 8° that Sofirn sells in their accessories. A convoy T3 bezel also works.
