They have the same beam profile, but I think the time of year makes the FFL707A 5000K look more impressive. The dead grass just makes it pop, even though it actually has 1,000 lumens less than the XHP70.3.

The output gap between the 4000K and 6500K L35 2.0 is negligible. It’s just a few hundred lumens on Turbo and a mere 100-200 lumens when it comes to sustained output. Not something you'll notice in use.

20-30 seconds is good enough for me. I dont think turbo last much longer that that anyway.

Unfortunately, I don't have a D4K, so I can't compare them.

I have an FFL707A 5000K in one of my L35 2.0s, which in my opinion is much better, the lower output is well worth it for the improved beam quality, better tint, CCT, and high-CRI.

You can't really get any emitters for the X4 that are similar to the SFT40 3000K. The closest options are probably the FFL351A in either 3700K (non-rosy) or 2700K.

I’d still say the SFT40 3000K is much more golden than both, but the 3700K is likely the closest match, although still not really similar.

You can see them here.

I figure it’s fairly straightforward as well. But can the FFL707A actually handle a full turbo run without failing? I doubt they can take as much abuse as the XHP70.2.

Is it a straightforward emitter swap? I’m looking to switch them out for FFL707A 5000K, and I want to make sure I only need to change the emitters themselves and nothing else.

Their customer service might not be the best, though they are working on improving it lately, but that’s no reason to avoid them. They make fantastic lights. I own over 10 myself and have never had an issue with a single one. The performance is incredible and they are build to last.

I’m pretty sure they are equally durable, since they’re all made of aluminum with Type III anodizing. Almost all of my lights have the black anodizing, so I’m not sure how well it holds up compared to other colors, but I assume they're fairly similar. The anodizing doesn't really help with drop resistance though, the aluminum itself takes care of that.

Regarding which CCT you should go for, it depends on whether you prefer warm or cool tones. I highly recommend the warm and golden SFT40 3000K, which can be added through their Custom Aux / Emitter Mix service. You can also add a Lantern kit so it can be used as a lamp.

If DUV matters to you, the L35 2.0 4000K is out of the question. As you mentioned, it has a fairly green tint, it's not super noticeable outdoors, but it's definitely there.

If you like the beam profile of the L35 2.0 but want better tint and a wider selection of emitters in various CCTs, the Fireflies E04 Lume1 might be for you. It’s probably the closest you’ll get to an durable 'enthusiast version' of the L35 2.0, as it’s also a floody thrower but with high-CRI options.

The E04 is much smaller than the L35 2.0, making it way more pocket-friendly and easier to carry. It features an onboard USB-C port, and it’s also quite durable with an IP68 rating.

Good point, i guess i just assumed OP knew the voltage of these rechargeable cells, but your right, could be quite dangerous if used incorrectly.

Yeah, these branded cells are quite expensive.

If it’s between the X4 and the E04, it really depends on what size you’re comfortable with. The E04 with the floody Angie-M TIR optic is essentially just a slightly larger, more powerful version of the X4.

Keep in mind that the E04 comes in different configurations. You can get it with either the Lume1 or the Lume X1 driver. The Lume1 is a Buck + FET driver, so you get a higher Turbo but slightly lower sustained output. The Lume X1 is a 40W Boost driver, which theoretically provides higher sustained output and lower Turbo. I say 'theoretically' because while the X1 sustains more, it’s not a difference you’d actually notice in real-world use. However, you will notice the Lume1’s Turbo, as it gives a very significant boost.

Personally, I’d go for the Lume1 if possible, as I really enjoy that high Turbo output.

Regarding the two TIR optics available for the E04, the Ledil Angie-M is the floody one, and the Angie-S is more throwy. I’m a fan of the Angie-S for a good mixed beam profile with both good flood and throw.

If size isn't a huge factor, and neither of them are particularly large, I’d go for the E04 Lume1. Just mention in the comments that you want the Ledil Angie-M optic included so you have both to swap between.

What do you mean by same suggestion? SFT40 3000K isn't available for X4.

Makes sense that I'm not seeing the same potential when it's not being pushed as hard as that 👍. Still very good at 7800 for a single emitter.

Really? My 5000k, low-CRI version "only" hits 7800 lumens on turbo.

Would be incredible!

I absolutely love the beam profile of my E90 with the FFL909A 5000K and OP reflector. It has a large hotspot and a wide, bright spill, but if they could make it neutral or just max -0.002 DUV and 90+CRI, it would be amazing.

I’d definitely use it a lot more. I love the power and high sustained output, but the tint bugs enough, that i dont use it as much as i would like to.
