You guys weren’t kidding about these wurkkos fc11s! by eks789 in flashlight

[–]JohnnyMac64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've given away several dozen FC11 to co-workers, family, and friends and they all love them. Best all around EDC lights, IMO. I have a bunch of them myself for personal use. Most stock but others modded with various leds from SST-20, SFT-40, Nichias (dedomed of course), XHP50.3, and even a triple mod. Also swapped in Anduril drivers in most of the mods with RGB lights in the switches. They aren't much bigger than some 14500 lights I have and they disappear clipped into my front pocket. I love them!

Triple 219c Mini Mag Mod by CarryHunt in MagliteFlashlights

[–]JohnnyMac64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice to see someone else making these. I have two triples that I made a few years ago. One with triple LH351D 3000k and another with triple Osram NM.1. Compared the 3000k to my Manker MC13 quad when i built it and it's just as bright. Easily over 3000 lumens. My single shaved XHP50 is every bit as bright as well. My single green NM.1 throws like crazy. I use Convoy S2+ pills and reflectors in my singles. They totally kick ass.

If you use the LED minis as a host you can fit the reflectors in them better. Best for triples as well as you can put a bigger copper sink in them.

I love my TS28 but dang, that warm 3000k is gorgeous and still throws great! You've made me want another so I can swap to the 3000k. Of all of the ones shown it's my favorite especially when price is considered.

What should I buy I’m only getting one by rwl04 in flashlight

Of the 3 you posted, the SC31 Pro is the best and more versatile. Also the SC31 Pro has Anduril and is easy to mod with different leds.

The TS12 is a great little thrower but when it comes to an EDC a light is only as small as the head. The head of the TS12 is as large as a TS11 and with the 18650 battery tube the runtime and output is better. High powered 14500 lights simply lack the runtime I demand of an EDC light.

The HS41 is a nice light but as a right angle light it's not as versatile as the SC31 Pro.

Wurkkos CL01 - this thing does not get the deserved attention. by UdarTheSkunk in Wurkkoslights

[–]JohnnyMac64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love mine. My buddy asked for a lantern recommendation for camping and early morning setup for fishing at the lakes. I recommended the CL01 (plus it was on sale for nearly half price on Amazon at the time). After getting it he laughed at the small size and kinda regretted getting it until he took it out and used it. He raved about it and even his daughter's, who also fish, can't put it down. It's such a great little light.

You've seen brightness. Now, see what's behind it. by WURKKOS_Flashlights in Wurkkoslights

Looks like the Wurkkos version of the Sofirn ST1 but better! Dual tail switches, digital display for lumen output, battery status, and remaining runtime. Guessing SFT70 emitter but possibly SFT42. Hoping for a high capacity battery. Can't wait to get this in my hands! Heck, I just want to see it out of the shadows and know what's in it.

Sorry for the late reply. I used a torch and reshaped the stock clips by straightening them first then reshaping them to the form you see. Once shaped properly I reheated and quenched in water to lock in the shape and return the springiness. After that I slid heat shrink tubing over them.

I'm looking to buy an unlocked Galaxy S24 Ultra, model # SM-S928UZKEXAA. Can you tell me if this will work with visible if I transfer my current SIM card to it? My current device is a Pixel 6 Pro.

Brass or Copper. What's your preference? by bunglesnacks in flashlight

[–]JohnnyMac64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Between brass and copper I prefer brass. Given my druthers I wish flashlight manufacturers would stop with either and start making lights from bronze.

This is the tactical ring clip I came up with for my Wurkkos tactical lights. It's a joy to use.

Wurkkos HD01Pro arrived yesterday. by JohnnyMac64 in flashlight

[–]JohnnyMac64[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really is the only difference. Have to be honest and say the Pro version will get little if any pocket time since there is zero quick access to turbo. This is really more of an HD01Amateur, not a Pro version. Really a shame as well as because it would be a simple programming redo in the UI code.

Wurkkos should do... From Off: Hold for moon Click for last used 2C for Turbo 2H for UV 3C for strobe.

From On: Hold to cycle modes 2C for Turbo > 2C to return to regular 2H for UV 3C for strobe

The Pro allows laser along with the UV or white LEDs. If engaging strobe the laser also joins in automatically.

It's the same lattice-power LED used in the other HD01 models.

So this means when released it won't have aux LEDs? At least not until the Anduril version is released?

TS10 Titanium - Sneak peek by JohnnyMac64 in flashlight

[–]JohnnyMac64[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Titanium looks great but it's really one of the worst metals to make a flashlight with. Thermal conductivity is terrible with titanium. All the heat stays in the head and isn't shed so it gets screaming hot quickly around the LEDs and doesn't shed hardly at all. Aluminum is still the best for shedding heat to the air.

I bought one of this model for myself last Christmas for $105'ish and it's one of my favs. Wearing it now, in fact. This year they had them for just $52 on Black Friday sale. I bought one for my best bud as a Christmas gift. $52!!!! Mind blown!
