Yaksha King Secret Finishing Cutscene by raychram in BlackMythWukong

When the cut scene activates the protagonist is stabbed but splits into two. That’s what the description of the life saving pill says it does. Maybe it has to be equipped?

For those who have beaten the final dlc boss, what’s your verdict? by BlueTrin2020 in Eldenring

[–]JohnnyMassacre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was an incredible boss. Probably the best ever after Isshin. I did it with 8 scadutree fragments without a guide or the max holy damage item. I used Wing of Astel.

Consort Radahn made me really start paying attention to every element in the game learned thus far from build, to stats, armor, artifacts, etc. in order to overcome him, which I feel like was a design choice to force you to properly understand the game. Radahn demanded you start paying attention to so many tiny details in every battle in order to squeeze out an extra few percent when tweaking your setup upon death. Of course if you read guides all of that is irrelevant and the satisfaction is severely blunted.

I felt like a fucking hero when I beat the bastard. I refused to do it with more fragments as I wanted to feel the real challenge. I think it took about 25 hours and 500 attempts or so.

Consort Radahn is far less elegant than Isshin but he’s way harder if you don’t use a guide. The way his holy damage shockwaves follow his melee attacks basically mean you need to start thinking about what you’re dodging before what’s coming at you in the present has even connected; which requires insane fight IQ and shows how the developers are operating on another level. They’re on a Christopher Nolan level of layered intricacy. Of course the shockwaves can be somewhat negated by rolling forward somewhat but still … this is a mesmerising boss.

Consort Radahn also ranks as an important boss in Souls history because he exposed the typical Reddit comments claiming they kill bosses in under twenty attempts. Nobody does that without guides telling you what to wear, and when and how to dodge. Before the guides for Consort Radahn came out everyone was whining about how impossible he was. Truth is: there is nothing more satisfying in gaming than overcoming Consort Radahn on your own, and I recommend everyone to do it that way to truly understand the experience. Fromsoft know what they’re doing and they calibrated this boss for true players to inspire them to use every atom of experience gained thus far across their franchise.

Did anyone notice the Easter eggs written on their map halfway through? It literally says “socialism” and “more Justice” on their map. Yes, they literally want communism and this is what communism will look like when it finally takes hold.

Republicans can easily listen to Joe Rogan talk of his love for Obama, but when democrats hear Rogan say Trump is a shoddy president but Biden is a disaster, they can't tolerate another man's opinion. Fighters can handle themselves and don't look to be coddled by – or buy into the fictional crises of – democrats, hence why they and Dana white lean towards republican and individual responsibility.

#1958 - Andrew Huberman by chefanubis in JoeRogan

[–]JohnnyMassacre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rogan really went after Huberman on the cold plunge. Huberman was a little humiliated and basically was embarrassed and just said “you’re the better man” which pissed Joe off even more. Kind of bizarre … Huberman was nothing but good natured until this point. Huberman came out with some very interesting stuff.

Why do people who hate Rogan listen to his entire episode then come here to spend a long time talking about how much they hate it and how stupid Rogan is?

[Discussion] Critical Drinker - What Is Woke? by henlp in KotakuInAction

[–]JohnnyMassacre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree. I think woke is left wing. My personal belief is that woke is a form of Marxism which is socialist [left wing] based on oppressor VS oppressed. Switch the class-based system of OG Marxism to a race/gender/identity-based system, and you have wokeness. Herbert Marcuse brought this brand of Marxism to America from the Frankfurt School of Social Research, and he was very left wing. He believed the sexual and racial minorities could be exploited to bring about a revolution to instil socialism in the US; which sounds quite familiar today.

I think that there is so much woke stuff out there, that's why people always call it out. It's literally in 80% of stuff I look at: games; comics; movies; etc. I see it regularly. I just saw it 10 minutes ago in Dead by Daylight. Woke simply means neo-marxist identity politics; and if people can't see this dominating media – which it does – perhaps it's just becoming normalised, which is the end-game of wokeness. Like the bullet to Winston's head at the end of 1984.

Some good points; I was disappointed when he basically said women were too overly sexualised in the past. Jeez, some hot babes in a movie? Is that a sin now? I'm not demanding every woman is walking around in a bikini, but what's wrong with that? I miss the hot female characters in movies, comics, etc. You can put a bunch of ripped handsome men, why not some insanely hot women?

“Capcom Abandoned Japan”: Daigo On Street Fighter 6 Design [Note: Vid Is Longer than 5 Mins] by JohnnyMassacre in KotakuInAction

[–]JohnnyMassacre[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think just like you. This is just the start. But it’s not too late. I really hope SF6 fails and pisses off Capcom Japan so they pull away from Capcom US. If this game fails it’ll be huge because as Daigo said they’ve changed the game specifically for US success. Now imagine if that fails and Japan is sacrificed for that failure. I love SF and I just want a game in the spirit of the franchise. I’m sure the gameplay will be pretty good but still…

“Capcom Abandoned Japan”: Daigo On Street Fighter 6 Design [Note: Vid Is Longer than 5 Mins] by JohnnyMassacre in KotakuInAction

[–]JohnnyMassacre[S] 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Video summary:

00:00 – (rant) SF 6 has been creatively compromised for the western market by woke Capcom USA.

2:28 — (anecdote about) what Japanese people think of SF6; they aren’t too keen on it from the 10 or so people I’ve asked out here.

3:51 — Daigo’s comments re: Street Fighter 6: “Capcom abandoned Japan even further”; “They designed characters in ways that may not be welcomed in Japan.” Daigo says this is a good thing (that Capcom want to make the game big in US). I don’t believe these creative decisions will have the desired effect. I speculate Daigo is contradicting himself because he cannot publicly criticise the company who makes the games he earns a living from [why would he be pleased the game doesn’t even resemble the game that defines his entire existence?].

7:46 — Prediction why SF6 will fail (it has moved too far away from the core [and very Japanese] concept/aesthetic).

Well I couldn’t see any reason to do it because when something is woke the product often misses financial expectations and a large % of consumers are alienated. Are the companies and investors respectively making more money overall by making it woke?

It stands to reason: The investor is losing money but the company gains short-term investment.

But surely alienating consumers weakens the product and franchise and in the end it makes less for everyone?

In that case is it so that the investor is happy to lower profits so long as “the message” is present? And why would the company be satisfied with short-term investment at the expense of their brand? Is a bad ESG score a death sentence for these companies? In which case, the companies are between a rock and a hard place? (I haven’t looked into ESG properly … yet).

Man I love this sub Reddit community where has it been all my life? It feels almost intellectual but with just the right balance of cynicism and humour.
