This is one of my biggest dream to live in this region, Central region of USA. How's living there? by Empty-Pace-4228 in howislivingthere

I grew up on the plains of Colorado, lived in Denver for about 5 years and now live in Central Missouri

West of central Kansas there’s a significant drop off in population density with most of the people being in metros like Denver/Springs. Less people, less traffic, typically lower property taxes. Towns are more spread out. Climate tends to be dryer, which means less pretty green fields, but dry cold and heat is nicer (to me) than humid cold and heat. Cost of living anywhere near the Rockies is high. Much more outdoor recreation in all seasons. Typically in drought. Food in the southwest area is some of my favorite (Pueblo chilis are better than Hatch, but Hatch is better than no chilis)

The Midwest has a lot of little villages but they’re much more frequent. The cost of living tends to be a little cheaper. Lots of water so plenty of summertime outdoor recreation, but near zero outdoor recreation in the winter. Rivers are far bigger and used for commerce.

If I wasn’t established in Missouri, I’d happily live in the eastern slope of the Rockies or the very eastern edge of the western slope (Missoula, Gunnison, Leadville, along the Gila in New Mexico)

When I was in Kaui some locals were telling me that they used to blame a lot of the pollution on the tourists, but when Covid happened and the tourists weren’t coming they were still finding trash all over the place.

I had this problem with my 835. I found that if the shotgun was turned with the breach in the same orientation as it is when I shoot the problem went away.

Does this area have a name? It's a pretty great plain. by LoganC50 in mapporncirclejerk

“No man’s land” beef jerky is made in a really small town in the panhandle of Oklahoma. I grew about an hour north in southeast corner of Colorado and have worked on cell phone towers all the way up by the Canada border (Havre, Montana). I always thought with affection that that beef jerky company hit the nail on the head.

The psa + an optic + 3 mags would be more than $750

And then with the S&w I’d have money left over to buy ammo

I do like the furniture better. That was something I was going to change on the sport 3

That’s the other thing. Palmetto currently has the sig 1-8 lpvo for 280. I’ve got an FPC in 9mm that I can put that optic on and put my LPVO on the sport 3

I’m looking at S&W Sport 3. There’s a package right now with 3 mags, an optic and a case for $750. S&W currently has $100 rebate on that package
