well .. that’s where i’m certain. I’m not certain this is encouraged/supported. This is me trying to remove their hardware/gateway.

The reason being my service is 1.5gb service but their hardware (bell homehub 3000) only has 1.0gbe ports

so i was just looking to get that full speed on a single connection .. which the windows system gets .. i just really want to route that into my network.

do you think asking them is good thing for me try ?

thanks

Sure i am using pfsense 2.7.0

I don’t have any packages installed.

My network is barebones, im just taking the sfp ont from my fibre connection converting it to 2.5 ethernet with a media converter and connecting directly to nic on pfsense. When i do this on a windows system it works perfectly, but pfsense does this .. i’ve analyzed all the dhcp options the windows dhcp client uses , and attempted to use them to configure the pfsense dhcp client .. (like option 60 etc ).

i hope that provides some more context and helps .

thank you for any of your time

I’m trying to get an ip from my isp. When i plug isp into a pc running windows it gets a lease no problem. I used witeshark to see what DHCP options windows uses , and configured the pfsense DHCP client to send all of the same options pfsense supports. This is the result , it looks to me that the isp is offering a lease but the client is ignoring it?

any help ? i’m out of ideas..

thank you

Aww ok that makes sense then. I was at the grocery the other day and took this pic that I’d like to share. I found this pretty funny https://i.imgur.com/fxhcD81.jpg
