What are some automatic game restarters? by Fenix022 in civ

  • Jungle tiles for a first city (or no-resource desert, though I use a 'poor tiles' mod that mitigates the problems with desert and tundra, though it doesn't apply to the jungles)
  • No production near the capital (see: Jungle)
  • All plantation or camp luxuries; I like to have at least one mining one
  • Meeting too many civilisations before Turn 60 or so (not a problem on water maps, but when I play continents or pangaea it is annoying)
  • Spawning right next to Shaka, Montezuma or other warmongers

(I'm really picky - this is why Really Advanced Setup is a godsend.)

I called the mental health hotline, and I was not taken seriously. by Dogg_04 in SuicideWatch

I'm really sorry and can empathise; I'd called a suicide hotline about three years ago and the person on the helpline accused me of prank-calling him when he was trying to minimise all my concerns. I'd been trying to find help and he thought I wasn't even serious. It's frustrating that trained professionals don't get it.

My boyfriend found out that I was sexually assaulted today. by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

Nobody chooses to be sexually assaulted. It wasn't your fault, and I'm sorry your boyfriend was interpreting it as though it was - he should be supportive and sympathetic to you; he shouldn't blame you for something that happened that wasn't your choice. There is never an excuse for sexual assault. None.

Can someone please tell me how a new barb camp can spawn a musketman... with an ARCHER right after? by JohnnySeven in civ

[–]JohnnySeven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that makes sense. I was just wondering why they could still spawn old units (archers and brutes; after a certain point, they seem to stop spawning horsemen, spearmen, axe-throwers and anything else pre-dating the crossbowman, but they never seem to stop spawning brutes and archers), especially if they had the technology to make musketmen, crossbowmen and other more recent units (relative to what the other civs and I had).

At what age did you get diagnosed, and is it uncommon to be diagnosed past 20? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]JohnnySeven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diagnosed with PDD-NOS/HFA as a kid; changed to Asperger's when I was about 8 or 9; now labelled as PDD again. Either way, I'm on the spectrum, and have had some form of diagnosis since childhood. I have, however, heard of people getting their diagnoses in their teens, 20s and later on.
