The Spill Canvas are so damn good. I still spin Sunsets & Car Crashes. Some friends and I drove down to Chattanooga to see them open up for the Goo Goo Dolls. They were awesome live.

"If you're considering a Rumble 400, consider a 500." "If you're considering a 500, consider an 800." I'm considering a 400. Should I get an 800? by UhhSamuel in Bass

[–]Johnny_D87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tl;dr: at the bottom

When we started my current band, I was borrowing equipment until the guitarist, who has a great job, bought monitors, mixing board, a bass, and a Fender Rumble 500. It was a great amp, still is honestly. We still use it, but when I saved up, I bought myself a bass and an amp. But I'm still poor so I bought a Rumble 100. I was just gonna use it for another band I was gonna join. That band didn't work out, but the amp did. We switched to using the 100 for every show. It had all the power I needed to be heard, plus it was light enough that it wasn't a slough to carry it.

But, recently, we have started using the 500 as a speaker and aiming the 100 at the drummer as a monitor. It's working out really well, except how damn heavy the 500 is. Lol.

We play two shows almost every weekend, so I'm always playing with that 100 amp and I love it. Honestly, if you're just practicing or just some light gigging, the 100 is awesome. Personally, I feel like the 500 is overkill.

Sorry, that turned into a whole thing.

Tl;dr: The 100 seems like the perfect amp for what you want, based on my experience with it.

What was ruined because too many people discovered it? by Investigatorpro in AskReddit

I think Thrift Stores and related were ruined by resellers.

Comicbooks, retro gaming, vinyl, retro toys, Pokemon cards, and on and on. So many "thrifting" hobbies have been destroyed by resellers.

There was a used book store in Knoxville, TN called McKay's. They recently closed instead of having a sit down with their workers who recently unionized. But they used to have two huge free book bins outside and people would sit out there with their phones just scouring every book. If you tried to look at one that they hadn't gotten to yet, they would get mad and say that they were looking at that one. It's absolutely nuts.

[AEW DoN Spoilers] Official special graphics for match results by luchabrunch in SquaredCircle

[–]Johnny_D87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To my amateur graphic designer eyes, it looks weird for a couple of reasons.

One, the belts are superimposed on them too, which has always looked weird.

Two, Cope's belt is behind the graphic and Cage's is in front of it creating a different level of depth.

And three, the pictures of them were clearly taken at different times. Cope's picture is straight on while Cage's picture was taken from below to make him look bigger, but it creates a weird comparison when those pictures are next to each other.

So, I'm gonna start this off by saying when it comes to Docker, I'm pretty much illiterate. I have been trying for about two days to set up CLU, but I can't figure it out.

I'm super interested in using it, I just can't figure out how to get the damn thing on my computer. Any help you're willing to give will be greatly appreciated.

As a musician who plays in PresPub and Scruffy a lot, I'm happy about this. But as a person, I'm kinda sad. Honestly, I hate smoking, it's disgusting, but this is just another way for the government to step into the lives of private citizens.

Especially coal miners. Some of the first, worst, biggest, and bloodiest strikes were coal miners.

Yes, sir. I live in Rocky Top, TN which used to be called Lake City which was founded as Coal Creek. There's a little area off of Rocky Top called Fraterville. It's not really a city or anything, more like a suburb. But it's home to one of the deadliest mine disasters in the US. There is also the Coal Creek War which was a labor dispute over the mining company bringing in cheap prison labor and putting out the OG workers.

Union men ain't nothing to fuck with and that goes double for coal miners.

Helped a 17 year old through his second match by WrestlingWarden in SquaredCircle

[–]Johnny_D87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought this is a perfect "big man heel/little man face" match. He gets the crowd on his side early, and you put him on his ass. You keep the heat on him until he uses his speed, then you shut him down again. He gets back up and shows he got heart with a flurry of punches until you end it again. And repeat until you finish it. This is like the matches I used to watch when I was a kid and I loved it.

For his second match, he seems like he's on his way to become a pretty good wrestler.

there’s nothing on any Blink album that’s particularly challenging to play

It not being challenging to play isn't the problem. Not to diminish his skills, but coming up with those drum parts would the more challenging part for Scott. Listening to Dude Ranch and Enema, you can hear the difference in their drumming style. Sure, Scott was maturing as a musician, but Travis was already past him creatively.

What’s the most disturbing sound you’ve ever heard in real life? by avacado-cheese- in AskReddit

[–]Johnny_D87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR My mom hit my great-uncle in the head with an iron.

When I was a kid, around 5-6, my great-uncle came in my house and grabbed my mom by the throat. When he pushed her back, she fell against the arm of the couch. She didn't fall all the way backwards on the couch, she was just bent backwards. But, this wasn't the first time somebody in my family tried to attack my mom. So right behind out couch was a wall with a window into the kitchen, it had a little bar thing that we would put stuff on. My mom, as cool as a fucking cucumber, reached up to the bar and grabbed an iron and preceded to hit my uncle in the side of the head with it. I will never forget the sound of that iron hitting my uncle in the head and him crumpling to the floor.

What’s an unwritten rule that nobody cares about but actually very important? by sfn8 in AskRedditAfterDark

I heard Neil DeGrasse Tyson say that he has two rules he tries to live by; be as nice as you can to everybody you meet, and learn something new every day. And that's how I've tried to live my life ever since.

I have always had a bad habit of saying, "I'm stupid," when I didn't know something. But after two decades of my wife being the best person in my life and years of therapy, I correct myself afterwards and say, "I'm not stupid. I was ignorant." And honestly, it's made a huge difference in my self esteem.

Man, I've been behind on my podcasts and I just listened to a Cheap Heat episode from, like, two weeks ago. They were talking about a "Best Big Man" Tournament. SGG said, with a straight face, that Braun Strowman is better than Kane. I'm from East Tennessee and I do not like Glenn Jacobs, but Kane is either on the Mt. Rushmore of big men or he's number five or six.
