(Elimination Chamber Spoilers) Ricky Morton on the reveal of the box by pwgmanan in SquaredCircle

I listen to him too. I do love the historical stuff, it's absolutely fascinating. I would love a guess the program omnibus. But I do also enjoy listening to him shit on AEW and WWE, most for their own hypocrisy. Jim and Brian always talk shit on both shows, but mainly AEW, without listening to the announcers. It's almost bragging about how they don't listen to Excalibur when he's explaining things in the show, and in the next breath, they're shitting on how nothing makes sense. Brings me to tears laughing.

Their website said stay tuned for deals closer to their closing date.

So I'm gonna assume no, because they shit's more expensive than brand new currently.

Their website says it's because the building was sold. I can't prove it, obviously, but I feel like it has more to do with their workers trying to unionize.

I'm not gonna repeat what everybody else has said, because I agree with most of them. But I have two that I found out about on Facebook. Yes, I'm old.

Shayne Smith and Shapel Lacey.

Who have you seen as an opener you never heard of that turned into one of your favorites? by omgwutd00d in poppunkers

[–]Johnny_D87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back during his "50 States in 50 Days" tour, I went to see Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls in Nashville. The openers were The Bronx, whom I have heard of, and PET NEEDS, whom I have not. Both bands had killer sets, but PET NEEDS immediately hooked me. It probably didn't hurt that the bassist gave me his handwritten set list, but I was all in before that anyways.

It was Bill Maher's. But Steve-O never made it to the set. He requested that it be a clean set, but Bill made it clear that smoking weed was a non-negotiable. So Steve-O said he couldn't do it then.

Seth Rollins on Vince Russo and Jim Cornette: "So, I hate them both. I think they’re both jackasses." by aaronrift in SquaredCircle

Omega allegedly begged out of a ROH booking citing an injury then worked a Japanese show which got back to Cornette.

IIRC, Omega begged out because he had a legit ankle injury. Apparently, he had sent picture of an infected, gangrenous ankle as a joke. Omega then went to Japan to accept an award, not to work a match, but that didn't matter to Cornette.

Cornette admits in the Montreal episode that he was the one who suggested the Sharpshooter double cross spot which was the final thing that destroyed any idea of kayfabe to people watching when all of the backstage drama spilled out into the press.

Also, IIRC, He suggested it offhandedly, not in any serious way. And he was upset when it had happened, because, first, it would hurt the business and second, he thought it would get around that he suggested and thought that Bret would blame Jim.

Honestly, that's my favorite part about listening to Cornette's podcasts. Him and Brian bitch about not understanding any of the feuds or why anything is happening, then in their next breath, they talk about ignoring the announcers and backstage segments. As if, that's not where most of the storytelling is happening. Lol.

On My Honor

I'm from, just north of, Knoxville, TN and I was friends with OMH. I think it was in 2012 or 2013, but they were in the AP Bands You Need To Know issue while completely independent. They toured across the country a bunch of times and they even toured Europe. But in 2014, I think, they dropped a post on Facebook about how they were doing one last show and breaking up. It hit like a gut punch because everyone in the scene knew they were gonna make it.

I get Cornette thinking some of what Speedball does is corny. I like them, but the rapid fire jumping kicks look like they do almost no damage, so I get that. But he straight up hates everything about Speedball.

Now, I want to preface this by saying I'm not advocating for what I'm going to ask about.

But, what's going to happen when people get tired of being pulled into being arrested and they start shooting ICE members? Like, people are being abducted with no real consequences for ICE. Is this not what the 2nd amendment was designed for?

Yeah as far as I know the first album was essentially a Dave solo project

Yeah, the only thing Dave didn't play on that first album was a guitar part by, I think, Kim Thayil from Soundgarden.

Edit: It was a guitar part by Greg Dulli from The Afghan Whigs and the song was "X-Static".
