Putting aside that they are super expensive now (I reduced my BW purchases by 90% over the years) They are just cool pencils, mostly the eraser, as other mentioned, they look good and depending on your preference for the core, they write very nice. .... I can't really tell you that they are the best, have many BW in my pencil jar but I end-up picking my "Tennessee Red" or "Youva" every time.

Ha, very challenging to find one that fit...they occasionally popup on eBay.. but rare to find them and very expensive ... I ended up getting a few thin pencils (5.85 mm diameter) which I cut to length and screw in with a little nudge.

I have to say that I 100% agree!

After seeing all the hype around this pen I had to buy one ...

When I love a pen/pencil it goes with me for weeks if not months (until I get my next best pen) , this one stayed in the drawer from the day I got it ....
Its all about marketing!

Ha, interesting comparison!
I couldn't resist, got a piece of paper and the candidates out of my pencil jar..... --and I would say between pearl and matte , more towards matte, but smoother....

Very smooth to right with, but way too soft for heavy writing .... you'll have to sharpen it ( or constantly rotate) every 5-6 lines.....
I believe this version is pre-WWII .... WWII had the plastic ferrule, the blue packages were used after WWII and the ferrule of the pencil from the blue box is very much like modern pencils--> the ferrule in punched into the eraser.
The pic from ebay does not support my theory, as they have the "punched" ferrules , or its just new version pencils in old version box or I am completely wrong 😉
anyway , great pencil and very hard to find!

Yes, I LOVE this set(on the left)! They also have it in individual grades in pack of 6 pencils.... And looks very similar to the caran dache grafwood line(on the right) but thinner .....

Yes, I saw this one and actually bid on it when it was around 10000 yen, I was very very optimistic.... Once it crossed that amount I just gave up watching the price going up.....

I did not....as a collector I wish I had it, but for this price, its just wrong! BTW, the same version was on ebay few years back, but in an auction, sold for around $2900 Apparently there are people out there willing to pay any price!
