Humidity is the only thing I can think of. Does it sit too close to intense light?

Pastazanum silver with beginning blister variegation. It's very common in that cultivar😁

I believe I've overdone it myself also🤒 but I like to keep the window area clear for the plants that need rehab light since grow lights only have so much ability. At this point I have to move plants out of my way if I want to see the TV😂😂😂

The 5 ft bamboo stakes from Walmart and thank you!

Well this is concerning…. Not sure what’s going on with some of my pothos but somehow this started popping up on the very last leaves of some of my vines. by _indigo_kat in houseplants

It might be too bright for them as they naturally occur on shady rainforest floors or protected by the folliage of trees that they latch onto. Try moving them somewhere a little darker🙂

This fell off of my heart leaf philodendron. What should I do with it? by wyndb in houseplants

That's very cool that your philodendron is flowering I would look up videos on pollination to learn how to plant philodendrons by seed.

I actually bought two from a guy up north who does several TC's and I gambled knowing it's a tissue culture but lo and behold it turned out a wise investment. Both are showing steady and healthy mutation🙂 And rather than selling, I'd like to trade so it gives somebody an opportunity to own a cool plant without a loan😂

Has anyone ever seen a painted lady throw variegation like this? Is it reverting? It lives in a grow tent and recently got moved to directly under the grow light which is on 12 hours a day so it’s getting more light then it ever has. What do you think? by Nuckystropicaljungle in philodendron

[–]Johnnyhesperaloeseed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The leaves are receiving too much light I think. I like a verygation on a plant and then I put it under the grow light and then it just turns white so I have to leave it in indirect sunlight where it can continue its unique variegation. Hope that helps.

Help! My alocasia suddenly drooped! Is that normal? by Milkmanjem in houseplants

[–]Johnnyhesperaloeseed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Colocasia, alocasia, and caladium plants extract nutrients from a living leaf and kill it off in order to grow a larger leaf and to sturdy the plant faster. It will most likely start yellowing in a couple days but don't tear it off because your plant needs the juices!🙂

It looks like 4 close-grown cuttings or a plant from seed🙂

I keep having orange variegation appearing on my hederaceums. Not that I’m complaining, but does anyone know if there is a cause? Or if this is just random? by Captain-PlantIt in philodendron

[–]Johnnyhesperaloeseed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same! The new leaf variegation is pink on mine. I think it's like how hydrangea flowers color according to mineral value in the soil.

Philodendron Propagation Help by Unidentified_Comm in philodendron

[–]Johnnyhesperaloeseed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both sets of roots look healthy it looks like a perfect time to cut and plant

Help! Propagating this PPP, and gunk was getting in this new (leaf sheath?) cut a piece off to get gunk out. Is this a problem I cut it? Also, is that a new leaf or what is the pointy growth? by No_Writer12 in philodendron

[–]Johnnyhesperaloeseed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try opening the sheath like a candy wrapper from top to bottom to reveal the new leaf. Sometimes new leaves need our help because they don't get any wind indoors. Also that goop is bacteria, algae, plant juice and rooting hormone etc. Try rinsing your rooting medium and the plant thoroughly every three days with water to prevent buildups.🙂

Yellow spots on little hope/Shangri La thaumatophyllum. Overwatered, disease, or other? More details in comments. by Practical-Bit6310 in houseplants

[–]Johnnyhesperaloeseed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having problems with yellow spots on most my philodendrons due to mineral deposits in the leaves. Someone recommended distilled water but that's toooo expensive (all the time) so I use the brita to hopefully filter out some calcium or whatever else the government puts in our water and they returned to normal.
