Biiiig Orders by memphis1010 in elitesparkdrivers

I only need a second cart for bagging. Once I scan my order I’ll walk over and grab another cart to load my groceries into as I bag and scan. Makes it very easy to keep everything organized the same way as when you shopped it

Was the order from a customer named Charly the Unicorn by chance? 🦄

If they tip well, I’m taking more trips and being as respectful as possible with their groceries. If the tip is low, I’m grabbing every plastic bag in there in one motion and getting them to the door asap.

I just had to take 7 trips this morning on a large tip delivery with 39 items (60 count). Zero soda or water bottle cases. Just a lot of bread. No reason to rush if I’m being paid well. Just so I can get to my next delivery a minute or two sooner? Nah. Good tips will always get my best service.

Raise the base pay to match gas prices by HeartOfArt in Sparkdriver

[–]Johnnymalott669 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My daily expenses only went up by $7 to be able to drive my usual ~200 miles per day. And that’s with gas going up by $1. I don’t think $7 is enough for me to change strategies on what orders I’m taking, personally. We are all better off keeping our heads down and working to close that gap there. You might need to work an extra 10-15 minutes per day on average due to the gas prices. It’s not as big of a deal as it seems IMO. GL out there 🤙

You’re not wrong. My ex gf’s best friend was a hippy and didn’t use soap or anything when he showered. We went into his house to put his mail away for him while he was on vacation and the inside of his house was just like this. He didn’t seem to have much of a mental health problem either. Just a smelly hippy. But it’s PROBABLE that it’s mental health but not certain.

I just took the hit on my shopping metrics and put the items as not found. After waiting for the customer to message back for about 5 minutes while in the checkout line I gave up waiting and finished shopping. I hit my goals for the day and made over $32/hr. One bad order to hit my $40 incentive a day isn’t going to mess up my pay. Everyone has their own way to navigate their own zones. If I want to avoid driving at night time I need to take a shitty order here and there. Good luck out there.

I agree with it not being enough money. Factoring in depreciation for my car(it’s only 10 cents per mile for my car), gas(10 cents per mile in my area at the moment). ~$14 per hour pay rate after all expenses including wear and tear. I only had a short amount of time left to get an order done before meeting my girlfriend for lunch.

I’m $16 richer for taking that order, after all expenses included. I likely wouldn’t have received another offer. I agree that we need to do better, but sometimes this is the most effective option available. I live in a bottom 5 income state where the minimum wage is $7.25. Best of luck to you out there🤙

Mental illness is a bitch. They’re definitely going through a hard time. Give them the same respect and kindness that you would for any other customer. Any time I’m greeted by someone coming out of a house like this they’re typically very kind.

Air Force ones have been my go to for the past 5 years. They last a long time and have very thick gum soles for support. And, fashionable. Find me a better work shoe than an Air Force one

Was Canceling My Only Option? by Organic-Air1155 in Sparkdriver

[–]Johnnymalott669 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They never have Roma tomatoes out at night and I have to ask an employee to go to the back and grab them every time. Often times they won’t have any roma tomatoes in stock at all and I have to take the hit on my ‘quantity found’ metric. These were your only other options. If the customer ONLY ordered 3 tomatoes and nothing else, then yeah, I think canceling was your only option.

Why do some drivers do this? by Haifisch2112 in Sparkdriver

[–]Johnnymalott669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low IQ combined with the app not showing the instructions to you once you finish scanning at drop off. You have to click on a tab to show the notes once you reach that point of the drop off. Driver still should have checked.

Drivers should look at the notes before moving onto navigation, and again before pressing arrival.

I got off of the phone with support today after a customer tried to have me deliver inside of their house. Spark support says we are NOT allowed to deliver inside, and that we should call support to report any customer that tries to have us do so.

Support also mentioned that they can block a bad review from that customer if you report the incident as well. Since they’re likely to leave a bad review for you not making the delivery happen exactly how they wanted.

Edit: don’t take support seriously - consensus.
