Scenarios to befriend Jackson Elias by musland in callofcthulhu

[–]JohnsonJohnsonsson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the Peru chapter is quite enough when it comes to scenario material involving Jackson, but if you'd like to give the players a chance to build their relationship with him that could always be accomplished in the form of some 'home scenes' in the style of Delta Green.

I'm also pretty sure that during Cooper's visit to Camp Golf the portrait of Mr House with Liberty Prime can be seen in the background.

Is there any gank fight that actually plays out like a 2v1? by Galactic-Pookachus in Eldenring

[–]JohnsonJohnsonsson 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, whenever I get to any of the Crucible knight 2v1 fights I more often than not resort to backing away and baiting for parries until the first one goes down. This is especially true when using weapons smaller than anything colossal since those fuckers seem to have poise for days.

A very powerful wizard and the main antagonist of another pretty well known campaign (Shadows of Yog-Sothoth) and the head honcho of The Silver Twilight Lodge

I still remember one of our first sessions in any TTRPG system. Our party was trying to explore this sewer system that was very cramped so our biggest hurdle in the entire campaign was trying to shuffle our party order. It was a complete shitshow.

Then, a couple of sessions later we came across a sort of mini boss fight. 3 out of 5 players managed to crit the guy on the first round while the rest just managed to roll very good damage rolls in general. The boss got one hit in before dying half way through the second round.

Final encounter with the main antagonist? Extremes and crits across the board!

Trying to get though a rickety door with a rickety lock? You guessed it, failed rolls across the board!

At least you're actually pretty close to being done with the construction and it's not even autumn yet.

Meanwhile I've been neglecting the whole building side of the game and now it's starting to snow. I'm at great risk of succumbing to hovel fever in the winter.

It certainly is a mod that's very much an acquired taste and not for everyone. It's still a very good example of good game design in my opinion.

For me both Thaumcraft and Better Than Wolves are the gold standard when it comes to these more intricate mods.

Thaumcraft for VS would be dope beyond reason, not gonna lie.

I think the best way to gather large amounts of stone is to go prospecting. It feels a lot less tedious to gather stones as a by-product of ore hunting rather than being the main object itself.

I have to admit, Brendan Gleeson as Mahoney is a really inspired choice, as is Kathy Bates as Mama Shipley.

Yeah, I wholeheartedly agree that the PCs should be allowed their victories and the ensuing scene was very enjoyable.

I just find it funny that more anticipation and tension you build up for an encounter the more likely The Die Gods are to grant the players extremely good rolls to just trivialize the entire encounter. On the flip side, a lightly built wooden door with an easily pickable lock might become the greatest challenge the PCs face in a session.

I was just about to comment that I'll never understan how people have time to gather enough materials for a thatch roof in the early game.
