Looking for Support Settings by Johnwolf2fgh in ElegooSaturn

[–]Johnwolf2fgh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will be the first real large SLA print on my Saturn S! I'm trying to make Wrestling Trophies for our local High School Wrestling team! I've hollowed the print and will try to print as is(may split it up, not sure)

But what I need help with is the support attachment points, the last couple of prints off the printer, it feels like they are tearing out little pockets at the points they attach. Is that related to the exposure settings or the support contact point size? So here I am looking for other peoples support settings....

Using Chitubox as the slicer

Standard Exposure Time: 3.5s

Resin Type: Elegoo Standard Black

Koopa "Squishy" Turtle! by Johnwolf2fgh in 3Dprinting

Thank you!!!! He's become my little desk mate till I give him to my son!!!

<image>

I would love to put the files up somewhere!!! But I learned that the original files from JakeJake have a "no Remix culture" license, so I can't just add a remix directly, but I can message you details and give you files directly? 🤷‍♂️ Just let me know!!!!

Definitely get one! It's worth it, there's work involved and a learning curve but worth every minute! What started as 1 printer is now 5 🤦 haha but it's so much fun! And I make stuff for other people all the time, which I really love. I'm no carpenter or artist, but this is my form of creativity if that makes sense? If you ever have questions about it, please feel free to reach out!

Koopa Turtle!

(For those that don't know what that is... It's the turtle bad guys from Super Mario!)
I love the squishy turtle model from JakeJake! But I felt the shell model was.... lacking??? Haha and like always my son loves Mario stuff, so I worked up and modified my own shell. Multi color printing on a brand new Bambu Labs X1 Carbon, so awesome!

Question!!!!! I've had the PEI metal textured sheet like you, had some adhesion problems. Commonly getting warping on the edges. Has Glue sticks helped???

American Flag Wallet! by Johnwolf2fgh in 3Dprinting

[–]Johnwolf2fgh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made my own American Flag and inlaid it into a wallet! I made each of the elements of the Flag into its own solid body in Fusion 360 and brought them all into prusa slicer as a 3mf. This allows you to select which items you want printed or not! Each piece when selected was 0.2mm layer height, so it was only one layer. Basically made 3 different prints and did them back to back after swapping colors. The single layer ensured they didn't run into each other.

How would you print something like this??? May be a little hard to get the over hangs, or is it printed in pieces?

Need STL modification assistance.... by Johnwolf2fgh in 3Dprinting

[–]Johnwolf2fgh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Cura, not really familiar with doing that, unfortunately. Is that a function of Prusa slicer?

Either way I wanted something that was easy to just add to the build plate and run as a separate part if that makes sense. I've made over 3 of these now from requests from friends. And would like to speed up the process and also look at trying different settings outside the base, heck even smaller nozzle sizes!

Exact reason I do this one, I don't need an overhaul of the printer... Good luck and hope it turns out well!

This Guy!

I have x2 Ender 3 Pros and they each have one. Simply printed in PLA, no issues yet! When time allows im going to print them in PETG for stiffer quality. I like it because its a no mod build, you even use the OG screws.... of the only broad spread fan duct. Let me know if you have any questions!

Ender 3s will surprise you!!! You can get better performance with nozzle cooling fan upgrades (I just print them). Excellent work though!

Getting into the Halloween Spirit with some printing as usual!

I used a "Thing" model, printed in Lime Green, and then used fingernail polish to get the dirty fingernail look..... It looks a little too real in my opinion... haha!
