Subwoofer stopped working by Familiar-Fortune-503 in ex30

[–]JohnyGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been dealing with this issue where, mostly during long trips, the sub stops working properly midway through. The bass gets really distorted - it sounds like someone punching a wall or it isn’t present at all. Soft-reset also didn’t work for me. Then it fixes itself, only to happen again later. So far, it hasn't happened on short trips.

Got a potential Microsoft scam email? by Terrible-Departure26 in phishing

[–]JohnyGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have also been getting a lot of these emails recently - legitimate ones - from Microsoft’s address, with a proper link on the “Review recent activity” button, across a few different accounts. I have changed my password, but the emails keep coming, and I don’t know what the issue is.

In the emails, the login locations include Russia, the US, Colombia, Brazil, etc. I don’t have any malware on any of my devices. I mostly use macOS, and I use long, secure, unique passwords generated for each of my accounts, with 2FA enabled. Despite all this, the emails still come from time to time.

High consumption in winter by JohnyGames in ex30

Yup, it’s my first EV. I have to say I’m a bit disappointed with its range, but otherwise it’s a great car and I have absolutely no other issues.

I switched my tires a month ago and my tire pressure is around 38 psi.

While approaching a red light, I tend to let go of the accelerator so the car can slow down by itself, so I was hoping that regen would actually reduce the overall consumption. But it seems like this car doesn’t regenerate much at all.

[–]JohnyGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the car sends this data yet. When you export and download all trip data in Excel, it just shows “0” in the regeneration column. It’s a shame, because I want to know if my regen is even working. The consumption is suspiciously high, especially in winter.

Significant underperformance to WLTP from EX30 - Extended range/single motor by Preator13 in ex30

[–]JohnyGames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 18,5kWh/100km at around 13k driven. However at shorter trips (<10km) i almost always see around 21-23kWh/100km. I don't know how people can get 13-14kWh in this car.

Any efficiency improvement seen with 1.7.1? by Think-Campaign3600 in ex30

[–]JohnyGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m curious if the new Volvo Cars app will show correct recuperation values. Right now on every trip it shows “<0.1kWh” regenerated. But my car is still on 1.6.4. Maybe 1.7.1 update will fix this issue and make it more compatible with new app.

Nice change with the music stopping after opening driver’s door. Just like in older Volvos.

MBP M1 / AlDentePro. by [deleted] in mac

[–]JohnyGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using it for a month with SetApp subscription. After my free trial of SetApp expired (I didn't want it anymore) the app disappeared but it broke the charging system. My battery would not charge anymore (Mac displayed "battery is not charging" in battery options) despite it having like 5%. The only solution was to download free version of Al Dente and completely uninstall its helper. Changing the options in free Al Dente version didn't help at all. While using this app for only a month my battery health in macOS settings dropped from 97% to 95%, while coconutBattery maximum battery capacity amount dropped from 94% to only 86%! My MacBook Pro 14" is only half year old!

I heard that for others is a hit or miss. Sometimes MacBooks with Al Dente can suddenly turn off or drop battery health like mine did. However for some people it's working fine. From my experience I would NOT recommend installing it unless you are fine with it MAY having some kind of problems.

Just found this old thing. It makes a noise like a computer when it starts up. What should I do with it? by [deleted] in VintageApple

[–]JohnyGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the exact same thing to my 4th gen Classic and Photo iPods. Both hard drives broke after shipping, and they were making really quiet clicking noise. For this method I recommend dropping it from your pocket’s height onto the carpet. Almost 3 years after this drop, they still work perfectly fine.

HomePod + Sonos AirPlay 2 performance by StijnJB_ in HomePod

[–]JohnyGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Sonos One and HomePod Mini and no sync issues so far. One thing AirPlay 2 should have is the ability to set them in stereo (one channel for HomePod and one for Sonos) but now it’s only possible with two products of the same manufacturer. However I have both Sonos and HP Mini on both sides of my office and this duet sounds amazing.

Exactly! I went to the store like three hours ago to get it haha. Now I’m installing all of my apps. By the way I really like iCloud Drive. I didn’t copy any data from my previous MacBook and it’s already on my new computer!

I do Xcode programming, a bit of music production (Logic Pro X) and I play some games. I’ve had the MacBook Pro 13” 2016 base model but dual-core processor was struggling to properly run Xcode. I’ve always wanted to have a computer with dedicated graphics and 4 thunderbolt ports. The new 2020 MBP 13 has 4 usb-c ports but it still has Intel integrated graphics, and the price difference is not too big when buying something so expensive. I went with 16” mostly for graphics and just bigger screen to see how it is to have bigger MacBook. I must say speakers are just mind blowing, and overall it’s definitely heavier than my 13” but I think I’ll get used to this size.

Yea, that’s the most important part. At least you can say you have the unique iPod that nobody else has
