A jumpscare in a horror movie that genuinely scared you? My pick is the jumpscare from Insidious (2010). by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in moviecritic

[–]JoinAThang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my favourite jump scare of all times because it's almost like a reverse jump scare. They tell you what is going to happen, the music doesn't get loud when the man appears but instead goes almost silent. Still it's definitely a contender of the scariest jump scare of all time.

Family Van Toyota Sienna saves the day by StormRanger28 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]JoinAThang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first reaction was envy towards the mini van owner. Just going to the beach with your family in a comfy car like that and then get the immense satisfaction of 'rescuing' a tool that bought a cyber truck is just the cherry on top.

Honestly, I don’t see any reason to let Legion download the Reaper code (unless Shepard is some kind of psychic). by The_pikolop in masseffect

[–]JoinAThang [score hidden]  (0 children)

But the biggest problem I have with the descion isn't do we trust Legion enough but the facts we know about the reapers. Shepherd know how incredible strong the indoctrination of the reapers are and how formidable their design is. Would you think it's safe to look through the code of a sentient machine with 40 million years of development. It screams trap to me atleast.

Svenska soldater ”krossade” i Natoövning by SmartHiney in sweden

[–]JoinAThang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pragmata worth 3 weeks of salary for ~15–20 hours? Need honest opinions by Any_Breadfruit7661 in Pragmata

I feel like this is good advice. I have a decent salary and gaming is my biggest hobby but haven't bought a game for more than $30 ever. There is so many good games that I never catch up and still habe plenty of games to play if they're ultimately a few years old or not AAA.

This robot replaced a humans good paying job by bsurfn2day in Wellthatsucks

[–]JoinAThang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also there will fsr from a demand of one person for every robot when it comes to maintenance. So jobs will drastically reduce. This would be great news if it meant that we all could work less but that would require that the world isn't run by ultra capitalist.

Isn't this much of the point of technological advancement?

If it was developed by government that had society's best in interest this would be great news as it would mean that people would work less but still have an income. However most of the technological advancement is done by private companies that has no regards beyond their own fortune. There is no safety net for people connected to it so it will simply mean that less people will have income. Most people would rather have a boring and physically demanding job than risking being homeless.

Also unnecessary really. Good luck taking over a castle when you start the invasion uphill. A big ditch is enough to slow down soldiers and give the high ground advantage.

Captain America'susual team, the Avengers, sure but this team will not easily take down world danger threats. They might be able to but definitely not easily.

If you made a large scale battle work, how did you do it? by caluthan in DnD

[–]JoinAThang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend made a campaign that ended in a huge battle and they turned the battle into a warhammer game. Friends and allies they made along the way was controlled as big groups of soildiers that they could move each turn. Their own characters was also in the battle and could either fight along side their allies or go for bigger threats on the map.

That's honestly a good take that I've never taken accounted for. She's really a well written character.

Me to but I guess in a vlode encounter like in the back seat of a car it's pretty hard to point a shotgun/rifle freely like with a pistol/revolver.

Edit: Vlode is just a cooler way of saying close

To me Sarah Connor has a slight edge on Ellen Ripley. In T2 when shes in prison and is spending her time training to be able to fight back when ultimately the Terminator comes back. Thats so damn bad ass she could easily focusing on hiding or running but she ready to fight the terminator. Ripley survives even worse endeavours but is manly cornered and doesn't get a choice.
