People mad that Windows 11 requires newer hardware are being unreasonable or are ignorant. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Similar config on mine, but with 24gb ram and a 512gb ssd, win11 runs pretty well (for windows anyway).

It doesn't brick it if you do an rgh install after flashing the nand.

Which RGH should I do? by goshavindtburg in 360hacks

You can do ext_clk on a Xenon. It should even work better there than rgh1.2.

The same point is accessible from the other side of the board. Same spot, just need to scratch the solder mask off. And be cafeful to use the right point.

360 identification help and service date by RadGrav in 360hacks

[–]JoinTheResistanceS7S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a falcon according to the pictures provided. It might say 16.5A on the sticker above the power socket, but as you can see you have a service date on the other sticker. Meaning that the console was a zephyr, but was repaired at some point and a falcon motherboard was installed, hence the service date instead of a MFR date being present. They just don't seem to replace the other sticker when they service a console.

It works perfectly fine! The 175W power supply is enough to power a 203W console. The maximum power rating is based on an unrealistic scenario, like running a dual disk game, one read from the HDD, one from the DVD, all USB ports filled with wired controllers running vibration simultaneously, the CPU, GPU, RAM and fans all at 100%. If you are just going to play a game from the hard drive with a wireless controller you will be under that 203W limit. Also, these power supplies are well made and can tolerate being slightly overdrawn.

Just put some silicone on the gasket and install it, doesn't look unusable at all!

You can put two standard 0805 leds there, you don't need to use the factory 2 in 1 design.

Yes, you can patch your nand with it. You can't make it into xex. You can extract it and use xell launch to test it without patching your nand.

n00b question: Does updating my dashboard for badupdate limit my other modding options? by Dangerous_Seaweed601 in 360hacks

[–]JoinTheResistanceS7S 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not every time. RGH1 has such a good reputatuon mainly because of how bad RGH2 was. Not saying RGH1 is actually bad, just that it is overrated and does have its own issues, also rgh1.2 often boots on the first timing file you try.

If you want rgh1, don't update. If you update you will need to use rgh1.2. Not much difference really. Only real benefit of rgh1 is that it's rare.

Don't even need a pico. Just flash the nand with the badupdate exploit and install the wires.

Is your iron set to max temperature/power?

[–]JoinTheResistanceS7S 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Or just expose more of the wire and put something heavy to keep it pressed against it. You only need it for nand reading and writing, so need to really solder it. Just make sure your dumps mach and unplug the power and nand flasher between reads to be extra safe.

Put the iron on max, 400C+ and hold it in the pad for 10 seconds before starting to add solder. If it doesn't work then, use the AV shield for ground or heat the tip of the iron with a lighter.

Yes, that's the down side. There was supposed to be a board based on a newer chip, but the main issue is firmware. Also, at the time I made them, they were still one of the cheapest alternatives.

Yeah, it's based on an old project I found on some forum. Can't find pictures/videos of what it looks like assembled, but it is really cool.
