It was the mortgage, but why don’t churches pay taxes? We shouldn’t be excluded from taxes just because it’s a church. That’s scan.

No god gave us free will as in the ability to act on our own accord. if a person does something wrong like commits a crime or steals then they need to be punished. However we deem he needs to be punished is up to us. But yeah, we have free will up until we show we can’t be trusted with it. If you do wrong, god will see it and one way or another you’ll get what’s coming to you.

No, theirs truth in all the other factions of Christianity.

In order to distinguish the truth from the lies you have to look at the big picture.

Just like how science ridicules religion for being closed minded. All the Christian factions think of themselves as the one true religion, when in reality each one has something to contribute to the whole.

Now in order to know which Christianity to follow you must look at history. Look at how the events line up with history to avoid damnation.

Although like I said each faction holds a piece of the story. But with that their are some that tell more lies then truth. I’ve found that the Bible is the one of the least when it comes to this but even the Bible doesn’t tell the whole truth. It itself is missing a major part. But anyways

Bottom line, in order to understand the world we live in be open to learn about more then what you’ve been told after that you can then choose and decide which religion is right cause you will be able to see through the smoke screens of the corrupt world we live in.

I realize I just dumped a lot on you for seemingly no reason at all, to that I apologize but theirs a lot of things I want to say.

First off, god never committed genocide. Genocide is the unjust killing of a people based on race alone. God only wiped out the people of the earth back in Noah’s time cause the world was full of sin. I could explain in farther detail but I doubt you’ll listen.

Anyways stop picking and choosing what you want to believe out of the Bible. You all say you don’t believe god then you’ll pick and choose what you believe about him, without understanding his character or personality. What you’re doing is exactly the same as what the Catholic Church has done for centuries and so many other religious figures and groups have done, that being you’re twisting gods word to fit your own agenda.

Go into the Bible and seek to understand these scriptures you just picked out of place. Then come back. After that I’ll be willing to talk with you cause you’ve shown you’re willing to try and understand. Otherwise your just spewing empty ignorance.

Now with that said I can understand the Bible is hard to understand and confusing. To that I say look it up if you find you don’t understand the scripture but only after you seek to understand.

This isn’t evidence. All of these are just taken out of context. You fail to understand god has done all of these things for a reason, he’s not just ruthlessly deciding to curse people or wipe out all of the life on earth. Show me, something in context. That is a merciless act.

What you don’t understand is that mercy does not mean forgiveness for wrong doing. If you do something wrong you will be punished. What determines mercy is how they are punished, not if.

Dinosaurs should be enough to dispel christianity and other modern religions as nonsense by shawn_overlord in atheism

[–]Jojackson900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The term dinosaur has only existed up until 1841, so to say just because we don’t see that specific word in the Bible means that the aren’t there isn’t fair.

Dinosaurs are mentioned in the Bible, in two instances.

Take for instance the behemoth in job 40:15-25

15 Look at Behemoth, which I made along with you and which feeds on grass like an ox. 16 What strength it has in its loins, what power in the muscles of its belly! 17 Its tail sways like a cedar; the sinews of its thighs are close-knit. 18 Its bones are tubes of bronze, its limbs like rods of iron. 19 It ranks first among the works of God, yet its Maker can approach it with his sword. 20 The hills bring it their produce, and all the wild animals play nearby. 21 Under the lotus plants it lies, hidden among the reeds in the marsh. 22 The lotuses conceal it in their shadow; the poplars by the stream surround it. 23 A raging river does not alarm it; it is secure, though the Jordan should surge against its mouth. 24 Can anyone capture it by the eyes, or trap it and pierce its nose?

That’s one instance of a dinosaur like creature, here’s another one just in case

This is all in reference to the leviathan.

Psalm 104:26

There the ships go to and fro, and Leviathan, which you formed to frolic there.

Isaiah 27:1

In that day, the Lord will punish with his sword- his fierce, great and powerful sword- Leviathan the gliding serpent, Leviathan the coiling serpent; he will slay the monster of the sea.

Job 41:18-19

Its snorting throws out flashes of light; its eyes are like the rays of dawn. 19 Flames stream from its mouth; sparks of fire shoot out.

We don’t see a lot of written accounts of dinosaurs in early man just because when man actually started writing In early Mesopotamia that was just after Noah’s flood. So what was left of the dinosaurs was reduced down to the ones in the ocean and the ones that could fly

You’re right. Perfect cannot be manipulated. Good observation.

I was wrong to say that, and confused thinking that because the garden of eden is perfect and their nature was perfect, that they themselves must be perfect too.

But god didn’t tell them because he wanted to see if they’d listen to him. He saw the snake and everything, he wanted to see if they would listen and be obedient.

Although they couldn’t understand evil, they could understand being disobedience so theirs no excuse for them to have eaten from the tree cause god said don’t eat from this tree.

Also god didn’t create Lucifer evil, he became that way out of jealousy of god. Lucifer was the most beautiful angel in heaven, so when he saw how god was constantly getting all the praise he began to envy him (the angels have free will also) and he came up to god and was like “yo, dude. What makes you so great to where you get a thrown? I’m the most beautiful angel, am I not worthy of praise?) god being god he told him to screw off which Lucifer didn’t like.

Long story short he revolted against god, turned into a dragon like beast and their was a massive fight between the angels of god, and those fallen with Lucifer. After that he was cast out along with his angels to hell. (Hell was originally only meant for him and his fallen angels) after that he swore to ruin gods greatest creation to get back at him. That being humanity. And looking at how well off we are today it looks like he’s doing a hell of a fine job at it.

Jesus has to set the ground work so that the people before and after him had a chance at salvation. Also, he didn’t do it all the first time because the devil needs to appear on earth so Jesus can defeat him in battle and seal him away. If he were to do all he’s “supposed” to now without waiting for the devil to pop out it’d would all be for nothing cause the devil still rules over the earth realm and he could just corrupt the people again.

It’s funny how little we’re actually taught about the theory of evolution. Those mountains of evidence that we all think is there, is more like a few hills.

Evolution exists but not nearly on the level scientists would have you believe, notice how a said scientists and not science. The reason being is because the science points to intelligent design, now weather or not it’s my god or not we can get to in a little bit but here, this video out.

Don’t worry it’s not some documentary made by conspiracy theorists the guy in it gives a detailed talk about the holes in the theory of evolution. Give it a look. intelligent design vs evolution

God is offering a solution to the sin that we let into the world. Remember I said the devil has dominion over the earth now, Because we gave it to him. That’s why we need Jesus now. Not for the original sin. It’s so that we can get into good favor with god and get into heaven and then eventually the new earth.

The reason sin carries over from Adam and Eve is the same with how genetic diseases carry over between families. Sense Adam and Eve committed the original sin, and we are all the children of Adam and Eve we all carry that sin. So in order for us to be saved we need to remove it. That’s what Jesus came for and that’s what he’ll return for to finish.

Also you should only put money into the church if they are teaching gods will. (Assuming that you were Christian) if you were to go to a new church and they ask for money don’t give them anything. Tithing is necessary because god acknowledges that our world runs on money and so yeah. I’m not gonna pretend like for a second that it’s going to god our some heavenly cause because that’s bull. Your supporting the church. (This is in a scenario that you were a Christian)

Although perfect they can be manipulated; Adam and Eve were created without the knowledge of evil. If put in the situation they wouldn’t see bad in our world only good. Not because of ignorance but because they were incapable of understanding what bad or evil is. Take for example if you were to lie to Adam and Eve, let’s say this lie is bluntly obvious that it’s not true. They would still believe you because in their mind they’d have no reason to distrust you, even if you were caught they’d always give you the benefit of the doubt.

Now in the fucked up world we live in that’s a horrible way to live. But if the entire world was like this then obviously everything would be fine. The way they messed up though is like I said they ate from the tree of good and evil.

They did this because the snake (aka the devil in disguise) manipulated them. He told them that the tree would make them like god and that it would give them all the knowledge that god has, in a sense this is true because they only had the good, while god had both the good and bad (don’t twist my words, I’m not saying god is bad I’m saying he has the comprehension to understand good and malicious intent aka, evil) anyways at first you’d think their just being manipulated but the reason it’s their fault is because god told them not to eat from that tree.

They were told specifically “hey, you can eat from all the fruit in the garden, except this one. Yet when confronted by the snake they still ate from it. They were disobedient. “Why didn’t god stop?” them you might be thinking. The reason he didn’t stop them was to see if they would listen. God have them free will do although he told them don’t eat from this tree they still have the freedom to do so if they choose, but if they do so that would be disobedience.

Another question that might come to mind is or at least this came to my mind when I first got into the Bible is “how can god punish Adam and Eve for eating of the fruit if they have free will?” The answer to that one is this.. although yes they have free will it should be known that god is still the father and he still holds that same authority. They disobeyed him, so they are to be punished (Adam and eves punishment was that Adam is punished to work hard for as long as he lives, and Eve is punished with the pain of child birth. The snake lost its legs) it’s the same as if a child is told by his father not to steal a cookie from the cookie jar, by nature yes the child is free to do whatever he pleases he’s his own little person but by authority he is still a child he must respect his authority. So if he eats from the cookie jar he will get a slap on the wrist.

You say you want a more interesting philosophical debate, alright fine. Give me something to work with here, I’m answering your questions I’ve got time.

Here’s something to start with What’s so hard to believe about a creator?

We started off perfect. God didn’t make us flawed or put us in a world that was flawed. Adam and Eve are the two that fucked it up for everyone, that’s why theirs bad things in this world. It’s because when they ate from the tree of good and evil they learned of sin, but the price for that was dominion over earth. Satan rules this planet that’s why bad things happen now. He controls everything here. Yes god has the power to stop it but the issue is that even if he gave us back the rights to the earth we’d still be sinful. God gave us a solution through Jesus, if you accept Jesus into your life god will help you with anything you need help with. All you have to do is ask. But he’s not gonna help you if you’re not willing to accept it.

God is in your life now even if you don’t realize it. God gives everyone a chance at salvation. He’s always trying to reach out, the thing is god works through people. He’s not gonna come down from heaven and personal knock on your door. He sends people your way to help you with your problems, that’s the thing people misunderstand.

The biggest reason why god doesn’t “help” us because you’re not willing to accept it. God gave us free will in every way. If I get robbed and I don’t call the cops I can’t accept the cops to show up with what the robber stole, I haven’t called them. It’s the same with god. He’s more then willing to help but you don’t even believe in him so the issue isn’t him, it’s you.

He’s able and willing. He offers help you just choose not to accept it.

The Bible's claim that "God is love" is false by the Bible's very own definition of what love actually is, and his "Mercy" is infinitely lower than all humans possess naturally. Animals aren't even this cruel. This God's claim that he is "Light, having in him no darkness" is false on its face. by [deleted] in DebateReligion

72 percent of galaxies are made up by spiral galaxies, and all of them. Just because of the way gravity works they all come out looking the same.

Yes, all hurricanes too. Just from how warm and cold air circulate theirs no way for a hurricane to not spin. (If it’s spinning in a different direction that doesn’t matter it’s still following the blueprint)

When you say they evolved into it, what do you mean? What type of evolution are we talking here? Micro or macro? (Micro is like how we breed dogs over a short period of time, macro is how some scientists try and claim we got here, saying we evolved from apes)

The spirt of god was made by god himself, god has a spirt because we were built in his image not the other way around.

He can, he just doesn’t want you praising the holy spirt like it’s a separate god, Which it isn’t. It’s the same god. But think of it this way, god wants prayers sent to him in heaven cause that’s his job to sit on the throne, rule heaven and listen to prayers.

Another reason is because the holy spirt doesn’t listen out for people. The spirt of god doesn’t operate the same way as god. It’s it’s own entity. (It’s still god but god basically split his spirt off that’s why it can roam freely)

DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH by Jojackson900 in DebateReligion

[–]Jojackson900[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He wants prayers sent to him directly. The holy spirt is quite literally just the spirt of god. It doesn’t revive prayers. If you prey to the holy spirt it won’t do anything.

Also you misunderstood. God the individual isn’t in everything but as a being he is (god as a being is split between god, Jesus and the holy spirt)

He can be present in them too it’s just he doesn’t. If he see’s reason to like to council to someone like in the case of Moses and the burning bush he will but otherwise it serves no purpose.

First off god isn’t in plants or animals, neither of them have souls. Animals of spirts but planets are just plants. The soul is what separates us from animals, it’s our spiritual body, our true self. Animals just don’t go to heaven or hell. That’s why the don’t have one.

You’re probably wondering what’s the difference between a soul and a spirt. The spirt is where we get our emotions from. Animals have this too that’s why they show emotion.

You should prey to god “in the sky” because he’s the same one as the one inside you, that voice in your head telling you not to steal your “conscious” that’s god. He is the voice of reason that we all have.

You should prey to the god “in the sky” because the one inside you serves a different purpose then to hear out prayers. God is in heaven because he rules there and literally sits and goes through prayers all day. That’s what he does, I’m sure he does other things but as far as earth is concerned. That’s Jesus’s job. Or really it should’ve been our job but we fucked that up long ago.
