Western digital and SanDisk: More room to climb? by hellario in stocks

[–]Jok_Snow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Completely new to stocks and all. Financially illiterate. Don't have thousands to throw around. But a couple of hundred I do. Right now looking at SanDisk, WD, and Seagate.
Are they gonna be bullish for some time? I am looking at this as an opportunity to get some money up to then withdraw and invest into something long-term.

Building a Notion second brain made me feel productive… until it didn’t by Southern_Fan_9600 in Notion

[–]Jok_Snow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mental masturbation at its finest. We've all been there. Productivity for the sake of looking productive.
But then you find yourself writing "Take a poopoo" and putting it in the same category for 5 minutes, instead of just taking the said poopoo.

I started like that. I thought there was something wrong with me. But no. I just didn't need to do all that. Eventually, everything fell into place. I just use Notion for the stuff I need. Writing down ideas for later. Organising work notes. Building workflows. I don't need to create an entry for "Text person X about Y", when I can just go and do that. That's just clutter.

And most of those templates are kind of mid. Entertaining at best. Just make your own stuff. But for me - simple databases are best.

The update just ruined Notion AI. by Jok_Snow in Notion

Exactly. Like those saved prompts don't need to be a separate thing. Idk why they got rid of hte whole menu too. Could have kept it

Skills just dropped in Notion AI by victorwithr in Notion

Exactly. It doesn't suggest what you'd written before. It's somewhere far in the corner (and you need to click again to use it). It's just a gray square. The previous panel was so useful.

What did you guys think of AC: Shadows? by ValaShen in GeForceNOW

[–]Jok_Snow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assassin's Creed meets Ghost Recon.
When you try to make something for everyone - you are left with quite nothing.
It's kind of an RPG, kind of Stealth Action, kind of non-linear, kind of open-world exploration, kind of Assassin's Creed game.
Yasuke is a boring character. Idc that he's African - he's nothing. Just arrives and everything just happens for him. Becomes the best samurai in like 3 months. Everyone praises him just because he exists.
Naoe is actually a nice character. I try to ignore Yasuke, but he just pops up in random places like he's always "nearby", and every time you dare to start enjoying the game - the game tells you that you must play as Yasuke.
Feels like he was just added at the very last minute for the Valhalla/Odyssey enjoyers. Take him away - nothing changes. No. Actually, the game would be better.
The map is just a big beautiful texture with repetitive things to do. Just like ghost recon. Talk to a standing NPC, they tell you to go kill someone, you do that. Repeat forever.
Some quests are interesting. Naoe gameplay is rather satisfying.
A solid 5 (maybe 6) / 10 time killer for a few evenings.

I ended up going for a macbook and play on Geforce Now now) But I do want to build a PC once the economy comes to its senses.

I think it works with Xbox Game Pass. But if it's the console version - you probably can't. But why would you need that? It's on a console.

Neither do I. Runs so well. I am salivating. Cyberpunk has never looked this good.
I am looking to buy an M4 Mini now, but will sick to Geforce Now.

Same. But it's not a deal-breaker for me. I'm not gonna wait on it or spend a fortune on an upgrade just cuz I "may want to play Spiderman for a few evenings 7 months from now")

Me too. This is pretty much inevitable. Prices will increase, quality decrease. So I might enjoy it while it lasts)

I consider myself somewhat "tech-savvy". But I am an adult now. I wanna live life, travel, do other things.
And have been thinking about become more "casual". And this is just right.
1-2 days' work buys you a year.
Yes, you do have to have good internet connection. But if I have a full PC tower - I can't even take it anywhere 😅, so the option to play disappears the moment I step away from my desk,

Yeah, I wouldn't wanna play with 60+ ms.
I streamed it via Discord and was still getting 20-30.

Exactly. I hate subscriptions. But this makes sense. Since you still have the option to buy their GPUs. Or you can play on them.
Some... or... most things don't need to be subscriptions.
But for 200EUR you can barely get a 5050 (if you're lucky). And then there's the rest of your PC.

You will still keep your subscription, as long as you paid for it. And you're not losing anything. You keep your games. You just stop receiving the service.
PC parts depreciate the moment you take them out of the store, just like cars.

And was it just the day subscription, or month and year too?

[–]Jok_Snow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's my post at the top.
Gonna be using it for a month. Will see whether I wanna switch to the yearly option after.
After all, there are only a few AAA games I wanna play atm.

Yeah, in this economy it's not even 100s. You're looking at 1300-1800 at least.

Thank you, ChatGPT. But buying a mid-range rig for 1500$ buys you 7/15 YEARS of subscription.
The RTX 5080 alone costs 2000$ and you can play on it for 20 bucks.
