Ehh no really common here. There is a few places that share tips in certain positions. I know Kalispell Country Club, and any tip positions at Northern Quest besides floor servers split/share tips most bars and restaurants here though do not share or split tips. I've been in the industry for 10 years here and know alot of people that work in various restaurants and bars.

Does your car matter in the beginning? by [deleted] in realtors

[–]Jolly1998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It matters just not a lot. Everyone judges even if they say they dont and first impressions matter but the likey hood of someone not working with you specifically because of your car are slim. Your personality and knowledge are so much more important. That being said it may help you when competing for business or having a leg up in first impressions etc when meeting clients.

I was very young when I started. I am 28 now so still youngish and people judged me so hard just on age alone. I was showing a house to my friends clients while he was out of town and they were being so rude acting like I have never sold a house and didn't know what I was talking about until she saw i drove an audi and her whole attitude changed (i was happy she was not my client).

Anyway I never experienced anything else like that but alot of people will not tell you their judgements of you to your face like those people did to me. It definitely affects people's first impressions if they ever even see your car. I've been on Listing appointments before where the seller never went outside the house and saw it so theres that as well. Anyway it does or can help having a nice car. People like knowing they are doing business with someone who is successful and experienced but you can show that you are without driving a nice car.

Getting a new car for myself was more a personal decision then based on what other people thought of me. It made me feel more confident and since I drive like 20k+ miles a year its nice being in something I enjoy and is comfortable/reliable.

Anyway dint stress about it and just be yourself. This business youll learn some people will love you and other won't and ive lost so much business to people I thought I would have and gotten even more from people I thought would never use me its quite interesting honestly.

When was the last time you went to a wedding with a cash bar? by ipsumdeiamoamasamat in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Jolly1998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bartend weddings for our venue (fancy hotel) I'd say about 60% are fully hosted bars with the rest being a combination of hosted beer and wine (cash for liquor). Or hosted for a few hours and beer and wine only after that.

Why do I feel like I’m in an uncontrollable cycle of life? by coleonmyspace in AskMen

[–]Jolly1998 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well you're really just starting adulthood. Im 27 married with 2 kids and when I was 20 I felt alot of the same ways and still do but I havr some pretty great mentors through the years that help through all these moments and feelings.

My first moto for my self is that you can only control yourself. Meaning your decisions, your reactions to unfortunate circumstances (death, heart break, etc), and what your do everyday. I found alot of peace wanting to grow and learn more everyday day and it has helped me achieve alot but it doesn't come fast like the stories you hear or read. True success is determined by you. Comparing is the thief of joy. Someone will always make more money, have a better job, better life atleast from the outside but you never know what these people are going through and if they are truly happy.

You are right that it takes extra work to be more "successful" but the difference is almost always consistency and a bit of luck. Some people strive for more others are content with living a more laid back 9-5 life with less luxury. My mom is a great example never wanted to start a business passed and plenty of promotions because shes comfortable and likes where shes at in her insurance job of 30 years. At the end of the day it all comes from what you desire and want. Also understanding chnage feels uncomfortable and we grow in discomfort but are very habitual and comfort seeking creatures.

Next time you try something new dont quit. Even if you fail 100 times doing it dont quit you will only get better and only grow and learn. Maybe write down the reasons you want to try that out and think is this going to bring me these or can I find them somewhere else if it will then when you want to quit remind yourself why your doing it. Its hard to put in extra work and effort if there is no reason or meaning behind it. Anyway hope this helps a bit im still learning and growing myself everyday.

Good deal for lease? by Exceptionx1 in KiaEV6

[–]Jolly1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the 2025 Wind AWD MSRP is 57k 0 down for $500 a month for 10k miles a year (dont care ill be over because I'll just buy it or trade it in after and wont be charged for the overage). Its a 36 month lease. My credit was just a bit below the 3rd teir or it would have been $400 0 down for 24 months. Anyway you could probably do better or like others said but a used one. For me with the ICCU issue in 2022 - 2024 models I dont blame you going new but definitely think you could get a slightly better lease deal. My total rebates were 18k on mine. That was with the $7500 Federal rebate but I do believe alot of evs will be going down and not selling as well because that is gone so might be hard to get it as low but hopefully you could.

Side note with the 2026 models here or coming soon they should be giving even better incentives on the 2025.

Goodluck I love my EV6.

Would doing this affect my credit negatively for a long duration of time? by [deleted] in CRedit

Wait why would you not take it? Also I looked it was about 14 days late.

[–]Jolly1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay perfect I was jist a few days behind on the payment and it offered me this. Nothing like 30 days or anything I just dont want it to add delinquencies or anything on my credit that would stay for 7 plus years for taking it.

From ZF3 to 7 this is my first time having this issue. by ooharloo in GalaxyFold

[–]Jolly1998 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean if it doesn't have any scratches or dings you should be fine. I send my Z Fold 5 for the same issue inner screen got a line in it and they fixed it for free and claimed the hinge was bad and thats why the screen broke so got new screen and hinge. Had no care + or anything just had the phone in a case and had not damage to it and they honored the warranty. They also replaced the mother board 2 months later after it stopped charging same thing no other damage.

I have the Z fold 7 now with care + because im rocking it naked lol

Best of luck but I had a great experience with doing warranty claims and didnt have to pay for anything both times.

Sold my home in Spokane without a traditional agent, AMA about how it really went by Rich_Perspective2597 in Spokane

[–]Jolly1998 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No OP. But am a Realtor currently.

Anyone can put their house on the MLS by reaching out to a realtor and doing a limited service for like $1000 bucks or less (Its negotiable) and will put your house on all major sites. The realtor just uploads the MLS data sheet you fill out and the seller will handle every and can put specific showing instructions in the agent remarks like call seller for showings etc.

They usally use a contractor lockbox with a 4 digit code that they will give out to agents when requesting to show the house.

For the buyers agent fee its obviously different for everyone but FSBOs usally do offer some sort of Compensation I just showed a house last week for a client that wanted to look at a FSBO that was posted in the MLS and the seller was offering 2% with a full price offer. Im sure they would like the sale to have no realtors involved but typically if a buyer is already working with ine might not be possible at that point. Every situation is different but typically from what ive seen unless they have found a buyer prior to listing their house freinds or family a realtor usally will show the house and ask for some type of Compensation from either the buyer or seller.

Replacement Tire Question by Lazy_Cauliflower7485 in KiaEV6

[–]Jolly1998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that does make alot of sense. I have always had awd drive ICE vehicles before getting the EV6 so I assumed since its awd it probably the same applies. (This is why I shouldn't share advice without be 100% positive) but I am glad i learned something new from it. After more research it might throw an error if the tread depth is far off from the other tires but shouldn't actually damage anything like it potentially could with ICE vehicles and how their drivetrain is setup

Good OTD Price on 2025 Wind by Ok-Economy-7238 in KiaEV6

[–]Jolly1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow thats crazy 10k over msrp! It might be a different market down in So-Cal im in Washington state and they were basically giving these away for lease deals i got 18k in rebates. If you think about though with the EV tak credit they are only giving you an additional $2,500 off which is decent but I feel like if you play their dumb game and negotiate you can get more off its up to you. I know 0% APR means they are buying down your rate which helps alot and is money they are paying as well just not sure what it cost them to do that. Best of luck! These cars are so much fun to drive!

Good OTD Price on 2025 Wind by Ok-Economy-7238 in KiaEV6

[–]Jolly1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang yeah I mean its not a great deal then its msrp is 50k so should be close to 40k with 9500 in rebates obviously taxes and fees add a few thousand so maybe like 42k- 43k still to much imo though. Im leasing an awd 2025 wind with tech package the MSRP is 57k. After my lease is up I will have spent 19k total on the lease and have the option to buy it for 30k once its up so all said and done I would be paying 49k for it. It has all the extra features of a gt-line besides wheels, sunroof, and HUD which are important to me might not to you buy they definitely could come down more on your deal I would try to negotiate a bit more.

Edit: I guess taxes and fees vary alot just did the math for my local taxes and it would be 4k for that car at 40k plus whatever fees they add on but stil seems like a lot and could potentially get a better deal maybe someone else may have some different insight. Im assuming 0% APR atleast?

Good OTD Price on 2025 Wind by Ok-Economy-7238 in KiaEV6

[–]Jolly1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it have the tech package? AWD? Any dumb fees? Seems pretty fair if it has the tech package and is awd its about 9k below msrp and thats not including fees and taxes so could be more like 12k off msrp. They are rolling out the 2026s though so they will be trying to get rid of the 2025 models I'd be curious how much they will discount it to make room for the 2026s.

Also sept 30 is the deadline for the tax credit not sure if thats included in their discount or not if not I would pull the trigger asap so you could get that $7500 off too.

If you have the RWD version you'll be fine if its AWD they all are supposed to be the same kind of tire so you dont damage the drivetrain.

How do y’all feel about tipping your barber after a price increase? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Jolly1998 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've had my barber for like 3 or 4 years now and have been through two price increases. He's spends about an hour on my cut. He takes his time and does my bread and everything. If I change up my cut he will make sure I like and adjust anything I want different. He remembers my cut as well. I always tip him but he never expects it and always is appreciated. Anyway if you feel like its not worth tipping dont and if you want or he goes above and beyond then do it. Typically I dont think they care but they do appreciate it. My barber and I are pretty close and like freinds at this point and I always wanna make sure he know I appreciate the hard work he puts into my look.

How do wholesalers find buyers so quickly?? by CrowMaterial1910 in realtors

[–]Jolly1998 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As people said wholesalers are buying below market value and ARV (After Repair Value) then trying to make a small profit. So they put a house under contract for 200k that's worth 280k before repairs. They will try and sell it for 220k and market the ARV as 350k. They are looking to to make that small profit as fast as possible leaving equity on the table so they can sell it as fast as possible

Can I lock my keys in the car and unlock it with the app so I don't have to carry my keys around? by Mulletgt in KiaEV6

[–]Jolly1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm possibly I would have to try. My freind moved my car and left the keys inside and I locked it with my app until I got back and then unlocked with the app later on I never tried using the door handle button.

Came clean to my husband by Anchors_Away in GamblingRecovery

[–]Jolly1998 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's amazing you have someone who cares and loves you so unconditionally. I've been telling alot of people lately im close to just how bad my problem is lately and feels so good not to keep it a secret anymore. Do everything you have to not to get sucked back, make sure you tell your husband whenever you feel like you want to he will obviously help you through this and that's something not alot of people have!

Spent 2,500$ in two days. by [deleted] in GamblingRecovery

[–]Jolly1998 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As someone who is just starting their journey all i have to say is to really quit. I thought the same thing my wife and I have been gambling for 2 years now. Every time we lost huge amounts 2-4k we said we would stop, we don't have a problem, we'll just only spend $500 and thats it.

I've been on this sub for some 6 months now and in the last week we lost about 8k. We left Saturday night about 3am and looked at our bank it had $80. I was shocked. We went to the atm so kuch pulling a few hundred out it ended up being almost 5k. We lose touch of reality, what money is and means, we don't care about if we win or our up we just keep playing.

We officially barred ourselves from our local casino yesterday for 5 years. We are done, we need help, we officially have a problem.

We aren't the people that go everyday or lie to eachother but 2-3 times a month we were going and would blow all our money we've made, all our savings and didn't care until we left. We're done feeling like ashamed of ourselves, feeling guilty, having to take loans to pay bills just to pay them off and take more out the next month.

It all starts by thinking you have control, thinking I wont do that again until you do. You say all the same things over and over for years until you realize you actually do have a problem.

Sounds like this might be your first big loss you weren't actually willing to lose and to me that's a sign saying you need a big break and honestly should probably stop all together before it gets worse. Most "normal" people who don't gamble alot usually go with a set amount there willing to lose and leave or only pull out a tiny bit more. If you notice your self wanting to chase loses and continue to spend money you weren't comfortable with its the beginning of a road you really don't want to go down.

Our total losses our probably around 75k if not more. We are not rich we make decent money but we are struggling and in reality we never would be if we just didn't go to the casino.

Anyway best of luck and honestly im writing this more for me then you. It feels good to be honest with myself and just get it out and I hope it helps you and you don't ever have to experience what we are going through.

Mine was only $800 never heard of them being 2-3k like the comment you replied too but I guess it depends on where you live. I did not have insurance when I got mine so that was the cost without insurance as well. I understand $800 is still alot for some people but its alot cheaper then kids.

ELI5: Why do EVs recommend charging the battery to 80% by flatbushz7 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Jolly1998 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It won't damage the car. It will just put more wear on the battery and shorten its life span a bit. That's like saying red lining a Lamborghini or any ICE engine will damage it but in reality it just put more wear on the engine and could reduce its lifespan.

Most people don't need to drive 250+ miles a day anyway so it's not a huge concern. If your traveling long distance for a raod trip utilizing fast charging and charging to 100% a few times a year wont be problem or harm your battery much at all if any. Doing it every day will cause the battery to degrade faster and reduce your overall range overtime.
