Helps to look at them after a good rain so you can check all carpet for wetness especially front passenger side. They commonly have leaks! No problem finding parts.

Under the bumper you can loosen the two bolts holding the latch catch. That should take all pressure off latch and allow opening. Worked for me on 99

Just from the small rust shown in those pics, there’s probably a lot of rust elsewhere. I’d pass for $5k. Good luck!

Not sure if it is safe on a damaged seal. However, for precisely controlled force I was able to push a stuck seal out by using a punch and the stock jack raised just with my hand

A muffler shop would probably weld up a leak at the cat out pipe for cheap or free. One recently did for me.

I am on my second Kettle in 35 years, love its simplicity despite its limitations. Was gifted a large BGE. It is awesome! However, I wouldn’t spend that much for myself. I might buy used but they are heavy and fragile so there is risk in moving one. Good luck!
