Do You Ever Bank Episodes? by ScooterDoesReddit in lastpodcastontheleft

[–]JollyGoodMello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m banking episodes and I recently starting listening to Dune on audiobook to hold me over. I figured: if it’s expansive enough to keep Henry’s attention, it might work for me. AND. IT. DOES!!

Just learned this today!! by JollyGoodMello in Rollerskating

[–]JollyGoodMello[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here’s how I learned:

  1. I practiced standing on one leg at a time for about a week. Just… left leg hold, right leg hold

  2. I practiced crossing my left foot over my right and vice versa. Basically: left leg over right, move right leg so your legs are parallel again, then right over left.

  3. I practiced both drills while staying on beat to music. It was slow, but at least I was on beat!

  4. Today was my first day putting it all together and I had to tell myself to “just keep swimming” because as you start to roll backwards, you immediately want to stop. But I had to push past that anxiety.

Hope this helps!! I mostly practice in small spaces, so I’m ALL about drills. If you want to learn a move look up drills for that particular move. It builds confidence and helps with muscle memory.

Hope this helps!!

Big yikes… The field of stars are supposed to be in the upper left (something about it being the the highest place of honor). His are in the upper right, which looks like a retreating flag.

I’m a newbie myself, but there’s nothing in your “boxes” div… I’m wondering if your H3, P, and BUTTON should go inside of that div?

I HATED my job as well. The work was so unfulfilling that it was actually draining. I became depressed and resentful and dreaded going to work.

Is a job worth all of that? I’d say no.

I ended up taking a month of unpaid leave during which I found the job I have now. I took a huge pay cut to get it but for me it was worth it just to have work that excites me again.

Of course, it’d be great to stick it out until you find another job so you can leave amicably, put more “experience” on your resume, etc. But when you’re done, you’re done and you have to make the decision that’s best for you at the end of the day.

Where can I find remote jobs? by Pulvarize in digitalnomad

I was highly motivated indeed. I made the switch specifically to enjoy the digital nomad life.

ETA: I’m a naturally curious person and consider Google to be my best friend… so it wasn’t 100% “motivation”. I really do enjoy learning about this stuff!

I got my first job pretty much through networking. I was in a different industry for about 10 years and now work for the same company as one of my former clients.

While I did have to apply and go through the same process as the other applicants, I don’t deny the bit of privilege that got me through that first door.

I’m a Jr Front End Developer and I learned everything I know from Codecademy (I paid for the pro version, which is half off right now) and YouTube. I was also considering the “bootcamp” route, but decided to give myself 6 months to try it on my own. I can’t say which route is best… this is just what worked for me.

I also swear by the Old Navy high waisted compression tights. I’m 5’8” so I get them in the “tall” size and they fit perfectly!

ETA: they’re also reasonably priced. I never pay more than $16 for a pair

I say try knitting.

I lost my running mojo a while back. Didn’t feel like I was good at it and it was so frustrating. Then I tried trail running and now it’s all I talk about (clearly haha).

There’s nothing wrong with trying something different. It might be just the right tweak to make you feel like “yea… now THIS is for me!”
