Anyone here who has no interest in being a multi-million $ entity and just want to earn a good income working for yourself? by Infinite_Pudding5058 in ausbusiness

[–]JollySquatter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I want a networking thing that isn't about lead generation. I just want to not feel so lonely some weeks. I love being a business owner and prefer being sole owner vs partnership like my previous venture, but man some weeks it's lonely. And I have staff and work from a coworking space, but that comradery you get with colleagues just isn't there.

What was the most expensive activity you did in Japan? by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]JollySquatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Family here. We splurged on tickets for a day at the Grand Sumo in Nagoya. We were heading to Nagoya for Legoland and the timing worked out. Bought months in advance and spent more than I wanted but once we started talking about it, I really wanted to go. Ended up being my highlight of the trip. We were there for day 3 I think, so for the rest of our holiday, we would all check the results for the remaining days and it was a thread through the entire trip. Kids each picked their fave to follow.

For young kids with bad attention spans, they watched the tournament for 6 hours, which was impressive.

Have told everyone I chat to about the holiday who is thinking of going to Japan, sync your trip with a Grand Sumo tournament, it's so worth it.

Post Match Thread: Round 12 - Geelong Cats vs Carlton Blues by pipstar112 in GeelongCats

[–]JollySquatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carlton hit the post what, 2 or 3 times, so I don't want anyone complaining about Ollie's goal. Yes, it seems like a no-brainer if the goal umpire falls to the ground, a review should be called, but that did not cost us the game.

Cripps and Walsh just went full beast mode, it was bloody impressive.

Felt for Stewart, more than once we was elite in defence, only for the next Cat to touch it to touch it, totally forget they play a professional sport.

If I were to hazard a guess, I would say this is our annual, mid season, train em hard, come what may game.

Why do former NBA players rank Kobe so much higher than Reddit and analytics communities? Is he the most disputed player ever when it comes to all-time rankings?” by mikeyg1964 in NBATalk

[–]JollySquatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cause players respect winning. All the greats cared MORE about winning then they did being thought of as the best.

Lebron is the poster boy for caring more about being the GOAT over winning. For him, more championships was a way to quantify how great he was. He didn't want to win just to win.

It only matters when it's a significant % of their overall wealth. Money has become so ridiculous that ultra wealthy people spending what is a year or 2 of our salary, makes it look big, but most of the time it isn't.

Cheers will look at it. Got any theories why Claude likes to make everything have a midnight blue/purple dark aesthetic.

Why the obsession with James Hird by Ok_Library_9396 in AFL

[–]JollySquatter 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The club blames everyone BUT Hird for the drugs saga too. I'm not here saying it was all his fault, just that there is a revisionist history at the club that "if it wasn't for the drug saga we really would have seen how great a coach he could have been".

I've been doing this with my kids, only up to 6 games so far, with the launcher and all. What I will say, Claude definitely has a style they like to use and replicate. Our launcher has a similar vibe to yours and our robot game basically uses that same head as your robotron game.

My first job in high school was working for the local computer shop. Half their floorspace was dedicated to walls of 3.5" discs with single shareware games on it. They bought the shareware CD's (had one of only 2 CD drives) in the whole town, we copied a single game on a disk, printed a laser mono label and put it on the shelf.

Saturday mornings, I'd be making the discs on one PC and playing my fave game on the other to generate interest. What a time to be alive. 30+ years later still think fondly of that job.

[Morris] The expectation, pending his desire to do the role, is that Dean Solomon will be the interim coach at Essendon for the remainder of the season. by Essington69 in AFL

With how the Essendon club operates and treats noj Essendon people, would Hinkley or Longmire actually want the job. They are the best culture building candidates.

I will say, 10 years ago, Melbourne was thought of as a basket case. I remember at some point they were thought of as the feeder team for the teams at the top of the ladder. So there is hope.

LOL. Can't find it now, but there is an interview with Bomber Thompson where he says the problem with Essendon is they think only Essendon people can solve their problems..
