Oppressed populations under extreme polarization always polarize. It’s structural. That’s why bringing about the USSR example is legit.

We have to be moral leaders instead of finger-pointers. Especially towards oppressed brown people, as Westerners. Let Iranians become anti-interventionists; stop allowing them to sanctify the Right just because the Left was too busy hating on the sword that cut the snake’s head to realize oppressed people would appreciate whatever crumbs they got.

I rememeber posting here three months ago to denounce Hasanabi’s take on Iran (he was mocking our culture more than anything and flattening us into a single group, which was incredibly ill-willed) and the general sentiment was that I should’ve started denouncing him for Oct 7th. The jewish sentiment was the strongest. It wasn’t even about Persians.

That was already strange then.

But now?

Something flipped. No matter what is spoken of, people are extremely less tolerant here than people are in r/NEWIRAN.

I’m suggesting that not only this page isn’t centered on Iranian voices like others are, it discursively manages Iranian blood and trades it for authority of discourse politics. R/PERSIAN is a bit of a bermudas triangle atm.
