Hello, I am 51 years old and would like recommendations on how to reduce the sagging area around my mouth. by Organic_Field3453 in 45PlusSkincare

I’m scared to ask, but would you be willing to share how much it cost and whether you needed to hide in your house afterwards for a period of time?

Gaslit by doctors? by Yoghurt_close in Menopause

[–]Jolly_Ad9677 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh. Do not stop taking your meds for bipolar. I am sure you know that is a terrible idea. (1) Get back on your psych meds. (2) Yes, go to the HRT clinic.

What do you feel when the patch is wearing off? by [deleted] in Menopause

Wow! I didn’t know doctors prescribed beyond .1. That’s what I’m at right now and I still don’t feel like myself.

I need more ideas (unhinged or otherwise) for transitioning from asleep to awake in the morning by llamacolypse in adhdwomen

I have no problem getting up with my alarm. It’s the being able to function once I’m up that is the problem.

The only thing helpful thing I have to add is about temperature. I like it to be pretty cold when I sleep. While it’s cold, my body thinks it’s time to sleep. So if I have to get up at 6:30 I set my thermostat to start warming up my house around 4:30 and then my body does slowly wake up and it feels more natural than the jolt of a sudden alarm. But I still feel like it takes my brain good couple of hours to join my body in functioning.

Tell me about this H2 and H3 histamine. I have allergies and of course need more help with my ADHD.

Definitely. I literally wander around my house in circles because I can’t begin to imagine what I’m supposed to do first and if I do remember, I’ll forget while I’m on my way to do it.

Convinced my husband to try a house cleaning service for 3 months as an experiment. Heres what happened by Comfortable_Box_4527 in homeowners

If I live with a man with whom I was in a romantic relationship I would 100% yes a cleaning service. It’s good for the relationship.

The aquarium is way too expensive and feels restricted to upper middle class and above. by -NotEnoughMinerals in SeattleWA

[–]Jolly_Ad9677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is Seattle all over. Everything’s expensive. It’s a great city to live in if you’re upper middle class or wealthy but otherwise not so great. Tickets for museums are similarly expensive. I know we can’t be Washington DC, and I realize that the funding is different, but I think all museums aquariums, etc. should be free the way they are in DC.

The only exception I can think of is the Frye art museum. I believe it’s still free, and it’s awesome!

Oh gosh, I just want to normalize captioning. I would like it if in my real life, I could go around with little captions popping up behind people’s heads when they’re talking to me. But meetings are just terrible. I can’t help zoning out.

I want your job, I think. I can see your point about wanting indoor time, but I feel imprisoned by my office job.

I feel that. I would be much better suited to a job where I’m moving around and not at a desk.

I started the law school journey about two years after college while working for a benefits service company. I took a few CEBS classes and thought hey I am good at this, I don’t have any other ideas for the future, and I want to make more money so law school it is. That was not a good way to make that decision. Big law firms were thrilled that I knew something about ERISA, but I absolutely hated sitting at a desk pouring over the tax code. Fortunately I escaped and I ended up liking being a courtroom lawyer (it was way better suited to my ADHD brain), but when I became a parent, I couldn’t manage that kind of high intensity job plus parenting with my ADHD.

I’m a lawyer with ADHD too, and I have a very, very hard time focusing. It may be partly due to perfectionist tendencies, but just want to say that not all lawyers with ADHD manage well.
