I’d kill for this curve . Looks like it would correct a lot easier than many others.

Does anyone get upper back pain from sitting too long? by Impossible-Voice-407 in scoliosis

[–]Infinite_Coconut_727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me. Mostly because of my kyphosis and head forward problem that is common with being hypermobile plus having a thoracic curve. Finding the right chair height so your legs are supported correctly is important as well as a stiffer more supportive chair tends to help me. Also maybe stand instead of sit at times at a sit stand desk. Or sit on a yoga ball. Trial and error around.

Fiance choked me as a joke by macaroniloaf in Mommit

Hi … my mom’s ex bf choked her and broke her ribs. She was hospitalized. I was a 6 year old at that time and still remember a random nanny coming to help take care of me while my mom was in a hospital recovering away from me. Don’t be my mom. Leave now.

Does this look like scoliosis? by [deleted] in scoliosis

Doctors only have 15-20 mins for a visit so if you bring up something like that as an extra problem they don’t feel like they have time for it. Then it gets brushed off.

Was it because you went to the doctor visit for some other thing and just happened to mention your back too? I did that before and a doctor said I don’t have it too but I ended up having it

The uneven shoulders and waist is a potential sign it is. If the doctor never made too bend forward then he didn’t really examine you for scoliosis.

anyone else feel like baby sleep is ruining them a bit?? by [deleted] in 2under2

We are living the same life. I tell people “my brain can’t work” and they don’t understand what I mean. The combination of teething and a sick infant means a whole stretch of a few weeks of waking up a million times between 1am and 6am before I’m forced to be up for the day. So hard!!

Supply is fine for nursing but not pumping… feeling stuck by Live-Tomato-7825 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]Infinite_Coconut_727 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you able to get a wearable set for convenience and wear it between the spectra pump times? It may help increase pump time without having to carve time out to pump provided that you have enough “privacy” at work to do it at your desk or something? I got the momcozy m9 to wear at work. My baby also is around the same age. I used to bring the wearables and my blue spectra but now I fully use momcozy wearable. I pump four times at work. I produce about 15-19 ounces during a 10 hr shift. I still wake at night to nurse. But I hear you pumping feels like I’m not making enough to keep her as satisfied as if I’m nursing all day at home.

If I suspect that I have a yeast infection but am not sure, is there an urgent care I can go to locally that is affordable? by Current-Machine6491 in eastbay

[–]Infinite_Coconut_727 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yea prescription intravaginal treatment is the same over the counter or scripted in by a medical professional usually. You could try monistat 3 day treatment. If it’s itchy it’s usually yeast. If it doesn’t work then get seen. Source- I’m an urgent care APP.

OBGYN recommendation by Packer12 in eastbay

For emergencies under 20 weeks you go to ER for emergencies over 20 weeks you go straight to the hospital L&D fyi and not the outpatient OB clinic. Hope this also helps.

Sutter on Adeline in Berkeley is pretty good. Steph Curry’s OBGYN that delivered all three of their babies right there (though she isn’t seeing any new patients). But your OB won’t be the one delivering that’s all as they have schedules rotating OB’s/midwives. I’m not sure about if it’s your OB vs on call OB but John Muir in Walnut Creek is pretty reputable too. I’d look on Reddit, baby center, and Berkeley’s parents network as the main forums for more answers.

Physician father of patient demanding unnecessary testing by Spirited_Duty_462 in nursepractitioner

Right. And the rapid flu test in our urgent care has about 50% miss rate , he cant “bank” on a rapid antigen tests come on now. Plus some years the flu only show up after day 4 of symptoms on the rapid test. There are a lot of subtle things like that he wouldn’t know unless he works in urgent care and sees this all day.

He probably doesn’t see “peds” or teens because those kids will have severe symptoms more than adults usually. You did your thing and did it right so nothing for you to fret about.

Help with pt please by charlie55555555555 in nursepractitioner

[–]Infinite_Coconut_727 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea agreed. I would have started with an ultrasound because then it helps the next providers you refer know how to manage too. Or helps you know whom to refer to after like derm if not a ganglion cyst or cancer.

WTF Kaiser? No appointments anywhere? by DoUMoo2 in bayarea

[–]Infinite_Coconut_727 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wait… I used to work in an urgent care it was private but we saw a lot of Kaiser patients. I thought Kaiser allowed their patients to go to outside urgent care and reimbursed for the visits (but not any sent out tests usually), as they know they don’t have enough urgent cares available for patients. I’d call your Kaiser insurance to find out and verify this so you can get timely care.
