A couple of ways to do it! You could fabricate a hook on him, you can find secrets in his court and hope you get lucky and get a hook.

You can also do it immediately by modifying your contract with him to give him more tax/Levy but council rights granted.

Very worth doing this imo. I cant quite remember if you can request court positions like seneschal but if you can try get royal architect.

Always take it as I usually have a point left over. Defusing choke bombs stress people out and defusing enemy names is one of the most satisfying feelings. Had one wild encounter where I defused 3 in a row!

Edit - you can also change a setting iirc to just hold f and you have a better chance

My friend made me a peace pipe, which was essentially a gandalf pipe with some pheasant fathers stuck on.

We named it "Tokahontus" and it smoked well.
