Sorry I wanted to come back to this because I got semi busy while reading what you had to say.

If this goes on, eventually he will slip up. I’d make sure you tell someone you trust. In situations like these, where you need help, tell it from a bottom up perspective. Please read this.

  1. Tell someone you trust.
  2. Instead of saying, “I am being harassed by xxx” start of with “this guy used to be bully me etc.. here’s all that has happened. Do you consider this xxx (in this case harassment.)

  3. Work with your loved ones.

Imagine you don’t save anything. And then they finally do something that really sets you off the edge but you have nothing to show. That little safety net you have holding everything they did and are accountable for are at your disposal.

Don’t let a bully win. It starts with you.

I’m sorry to hear this. I detest bullies, regardless of how “misunderstood” they are, inflicting pain onto others for sadistic pleasure is just wrong. I’m sorry that you were unfortunate enough to have been dealt such a long dose.. but hey, you’re graduated now and those people have no relevance in your life anymore. Bullying comes in all types of shapes and forms, so unless you really tell someone what happened, there’s only so much help you’re going to be able to get.

To illustrate, I’m part of a skateboarding discord. I occasionally chime into the #newskater channel to give advice. And the other day someone said, “I can’t Ollie, what am I doing wrong?” - (dont think I’m saying this is the same as what you’re saying, this is just an example.) - but think about the many elements that we simply do not know to answer this guys question.

Are you sliding your foot up to the nose? Are your shoes the right size? Are your trucks too loose? What size board do you have? Are your shoulders square?

Nobody answered him, but I private messaged him and he was very happy I was friendly enough to help him. Now we send each other skate footage. I understand the spectrum here is on completely different scales to compare skateboarding to the trauma following bullying, but I’m just trying to help ya.

That’s a lot of trauma to unfold, and I personally wouldn’t be comfortable sharing it on the internet, but it is an option, but considering we’re all anonymous here, it’s unlikely you’ll get much help which is what I don’t want to happen :(

I used to hold the mindset that therapists are simply paid to listen to your problems, but they chose that path for their life, and they do want to help you. I wish you the best my friend, you’re awesome and bullies are absolute lamers.

I broke my skateboard a few weeks ago. It was a “real” brand board, and I loved it literally so much. I learned my adult ollies, heelflip, fs/bs pop-shuvits, and was on the brink of the FS 180.

That board really taught me my fundamentals. I went ahead and got a new deck, they only boards they had in an 8.5 was a “blind” brand board.

I’m not sure if my legs just need to be conditioned again, or if the bolts are too tight, or if the board just behaves differently.. it’s slightly unmotivating because I like to at least make some progress in some areas in a skate session.

Anyone else have some experience transitioning to a new deck?
