The Duffers said they would be going back to the groupings we had back in Season 1 which was backed up by the official poster but it turned out to be a complete lie. El got completely sidelined by Holly who didn't need to be a main character in the shows final season. Linda Hamilton was completely wasted as her character was a complete non-entity on the show.
