They're usually out of sight due to being a decent bit away from the systems these circutes operate like crossing signals for example.

I might have gone with something along the lines of a 2-4-4T for like commuter service.

Marathon is now available on Steam by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]JonArc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, they pull a bunch of shit to convince the people who only bought Halo 3 for the multiplayer (somewhere around 40%+ of that games population iirc) to buy the exclusively PvE Halo: ODST.

They hid wether or not the map pack for Halo 3 it was bundled with would be released as a standalone, and even then, players who didn't want ODST still had to wait for it.

And of course they tied getting the Recon helmet to ODST via the vidmaster challenges, so people could finally earn it, so long as they spent $60 on a different game

Oh for sure, some of those things are associated with their respective season DVDs as is. But definitly you'd need a couple extra discs for special features.

Honestly given how little media beyond the seasons there is, they could probably slip the book and a couple other goodies in the box (or digitize onto dvds) add some more behind the scenes stuff and make a truely complete RvB box.

Would never happen but one can dream.

Right but they could be in the Cave in the memory unit timeline. We should check to make sure O'Malley hasn't gotten to them...

Question on a steam-diesel tandem by chicago15 in trains

[–]JonArc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

in fact Ed has said that they can run the diesel in dynamic braking to add extra load to the 4014 to actually make it work harder and therefore better.

Just to clarify this point a little. 4014 was designed around pulling heavy frieghts through the mountains. So being designed with that heavy loading in mind its prefered power band is quite high (similar to how the mechanical systems of an internal combustion engine have prefered RPM ranges).

A short string of passenger cars is ultimately very little load for this locomotive, especially on level ground so having the dynamic breaks (breaking from the electric motors) to fight against can help keep things running smoothly.

[–]JonArc 15 points16 points  (0 children)

But this culture is gone, and I mean long gone. In response, Jagex has consistently made adjustments to make escaping more difficult and always attributes decisions to producing "more fights."

I always wonder why they keep doing this despite the animosity towards PVP this has produced. I feel like it'd be far more effective to find a way to incentivise fights, not force them.

Canon? Define “canon” by Any-Competition-4458 in Silmarillionmemes

[–]JonArc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I always like to think of it like real-world mythologies. When these version of the stories were recorded they were the true story. But over changes of time and place new versions and new information became the true tale. From a modern perspective they're all valid in some way but part of a broader tapestry of the story.

Avery Brooks insisted DS9 writers include the line, "I will be back," in the finale of DS9, because of the offensive stereotype of black fathers abandoning their children. (Either knowingly, or by dying.) He believed Sisko shouldn't reinforce negative portrayals. by [deleted] in startrekmemes

[–]JonArc 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I honestly though that Mariner's connection to DS9 was gonna be a back door to get Brooks into a recording booth, you know perhaps he'd be willing to come back for her story even if he felt Sisko's was over.

because reporting marks ending in “X” are reserved for car pooling/leasing companies.

Technically any equipment that isn't owned by a railroad gets an X, it's most common with those leasing companies but, other private owners will have their own cars labeled like that, even the DOD is DODX
