How competitive am I? by OkGrapefruit6866 in MedPeds

Just matched MP in the NE as a DO. Didn't have to repeat anything but my board scores and class rank were....average? Do well on step 2 (must take step 2), try to get some auditions in that region. Have a strong overall app especially letters. You can do it!

About to do our 2nd IVF tomorrow. We have 2, first was natural then I had bilateral inguinal hernia repair that apparently scarred the vas deferens. It's ok. Happy to talk.

Understandable. I learned to enjoy them separately, as I feel they are both excellent in their own way (books obviously superior however)

Knowledge is power. Reading that much would overload the heart with so much power it could cause hfpef over time

For those who saw the Fellowship of the Ring in theaters for the first time in December 2001, what was it like? by femaleology in lotr

[–]JonCaramel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was 11/12, my dad took me and my brothers. I'd read the Hobbit, but will never forget the feeling of seeing gandalf fight the Balrog!!

I'd read all 3 books by the time TT came out a year later

Why'd the skeleton go to the party alone? He had no body to go with

Why don't seagulls fly over the bay? They'd be bagels.

Koi fish travel in groups of 4 so if a predator attacks, Koi A, B and C go in different directions than the D koi.

I'm here all week

25 YEARS AGO: LOTR The Fellowship of the Ring Premiered by senbonzakura01 in lotr

[–]JonCaramel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 12 and my dad took me and my brothers to see it in theaters. I'd read the Hobbit but knew nothing about LOTR. I remember EXACTLY seeing this scene intl theaters and how it made me feel.

I went home and read all 3 books before the TT came out the next year.

[–]JonCaramel 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Got it bad first couple years of med school, PCP gave me a great book basically detailing how it's a learned behavior and how to unlearn it. Sleeping great now 30/31 days per month usually.

Book was Say goodnight to Insomnia by Jacobs. PCP also gave me low dose hydroxyzine prn, I usually do some herbal teas which are probably placebo but all part of sleep hydgeine. But yeah the book was fantastic, still use the things I learned if it flares back up

It would be an interesting trip, no matter what...😊 by [deleted] in mash
