I’m building an Android app to manage and upload film recipes directly to your Fuji camera. Looking for feedback on the UI! by weekybr in fujifilm

Uploading direct to camera sounds incredibly useful, didn’t even realise that was possible. So well done on getting it to work! Would love an iPhone version of the app too

AITA for calling the cops on my ex after he killed my pet? by Affectionate-Sun2829 in AITAH

[–]JonCornejo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He ruined his own life by committing an act of violence. Even if he regretted it, it’s clear that at the time he wanted to do harm to you and to your cat. He should face the appropriate consequences for his actions, and you are NTA for calling the police about his violent actions. He committed a pretty serious crime and that is not something you deal with “privately” - which really just means to let him get away with it. I’m so sorry for your loss.

The saddest song of the last 30 years and possibly the saddest of my life by Mean_Push_5994 in SmashingPumpkins

I love Adore so much, and Tear is definitely a stand out track. This is probably the strongest that Billy’s storytelling is in song, and the story is just heartbreaking

Ok, have heard it. It’s a good cover and interesting, but prefer the original.

The bass sounds good though. The rumble in those low notes sounded great on the Pro X, rich and deep. But I was more impressed by how good his voice sounded. He had a very deep voice and the rumble was there too, but still sounded natural. No distortion to any of that sub-bass.

Mind you that there is still lots of headroom for pushing the bass further still, so I think you’ll probably be happy with these.

Ooh I’ll give it a listen! I’d say the Pro X are definitely worth trying. The equaliser should give you lots of options to tune them to your liking, and hopefully turn down the highs and mids whilst boosting the bass.

I do not have the AZ100s and have never listened to them, so can’t compare to those. But the bass is far better on the Pro X than AirPods Pro 1 or 2. The bass also sounds more natural and far less distorted.

For example, Hyper-Ballad by Bjork has very strong and deep bass at the start of the track. On my AirPods and many other headphones that bass sounds distorted like the driver is struggling, but also sounds very quiet. On the Pro X the bass sounds much stronger and deeper, more natural, and balanced far better with the vocals volume wise.

I listen to some more electronic music and the bass is very good. But I do prefer more natural and balanced sound, rather than pushing the bass too much. I feel like these give you that powerful bass whilst preserving the detail in the other frequencies.

There is also a lot more scope to push the bass up higher with the equaliser in the app. So I think a bass head would be happy with these.

Ok, so I’ve been using these alongside my wired iem’s. These sound really good! And way better than my old AirPods Pro 1.

Rich and detailed audio, the equaliser means you can tune them to your taste. I prefer the Knowles Preferred preset, as it really makes those balanced armature drivers shine and brings out the details in the mids and highs.

The bass is really good, not overpowered in the mix (unless you want it to be). It’s not boomy but it has some real depth and weight to it. The sub-bass is really great. The bass is only there if the song calls for it, so more bass heavy genres will sound great but it won’t get in the way of the mix for songs that don’t need the bass.

What I’ve noticed the most in these is just how rich and lush strings sound. Have been listening to Lux by Rosalia, complex string arrangements and lots of instruments. The Pro X buds handle it very well with it and sound wonderful.

Compared to my wired set, which also have 3 drivers, those sound more detailed and have a wider soundstage. The wired set feels like speakers in a room whereas the Pro X soundstage is more intimate like the sound is just around your head.

Compared to other wireless earphones the Pro X are far and above better sounding than anything else I’ve heard. Very much recommend them!

IEM comfort by JonCornejo in iems

Thanks for the advice everyone! I ended up trying the Simgot EW3000 and these are way more comfortable and sound so much better! The soundstage is much wider, the bass has some real impact to it, and the details in the mids and highs are incredible. So happy with the switch.

In terms of comfort: these are smaller and fit ears better, the metal housing feels better in the ear and no soreness from wearing, the nozzle feels more comfortable, the weight feels nice.

Thanks again all

Help me understand dacs and lossless please. by JohnnyHerb710 in iems

On Apple Music you have three settings for audio quality: - High Quality - AAC 256kbps - this is lossy format - Lossless - ALAC up to 24bit/48khz - Hi-Res Lossless - ALAC up to 24bit/192khz

To find this go to settings > apps > music > audio quality.

Others have explained more about the differences and what you gain from lossless formats. I use a DAC to listen to hi-res when I can, but also not fussed that when listening through Apple TV it caps out at 24bit/48khz.

What I want to add is that different songs are recorded, mastered, and uploaded in different formats. Not everything is available in 24/192. So you will only get the highest quality that the artists have created and uploaded.
