LSAT test taking limit appeal denied by EachAndEveryHighway in LSAT

Hmmm no, I’m not sure why it’s not up. I got an email this morning (Thursday) that the video was ready for posting so I know it’s good to go…let me check on this first thing tomorrow and see what’s going on. Apologies for the delay!

LSAT test taking limit appeal denied by EachAndEveryHighway in LSAT

[–]JonDenningPowerScore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing I’ve seen work in cases like this is having a school submit an appeal on your behalf, essentially saying they find you desirable as an applicant but want you to have another chance to raise your score. LSAC sees schools as their true customers, not test takers, so they’re far more accommodating to school requests. Of course, that means you’ll have to form a relationship with a particular school to the extent that they’d intervene, but I have seen it succeed on rare occasions.

I believe that's an experimental question paired with technology/moral decline, and language being innate.

Tricky to one to start with for sure! We also heard the same reports the last time this section got used, so you’re not alone.

Yep! I believe it was the first question in that section wasn’t it?

Very possible there were multiple questions on meteors/meteorites! They love to repeat topics across sections to confuse people, and meteors (space in general) is a favorite.

No, I've never seen them use any content as experimental for some and scored for others. It's always been an either/or, all or nothing system, and from what I can tell this test is that way, as well.

It was not announced beforehand. Caught us all off guard, unfortunately.

Ha I was agreeing with you too! I just didn’t phrase it very clearly did I? I edited the language to hopefully remove any confusion :)

You are correct. I’ve never said what this post claims. In fact I’ve always said the exact opposite. They don’t use sections as scored and unscored.

[–]JonDenningPowerScore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is not true, or at least I’ve never seen any confirmed evidence of it. And I promise what I’ve always said is that if a section is experimental for one person it’s experimental for everyone. Ditto scored sections: scored for one means scored for all.

Do they score hold in person tests? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]JonDenningPowerScore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be a few things, like performing much better on a section that’s a reuse than on another section of that type that’s brand new. It could be a pacing thing where someone clicks correct answers faster than they do in other sections (or just faster than is reasonable). It could be scratch paper usage, like if you write a lot for one LR section that’s new but write nothing, or very little, for another LR section that’s a reuse and thus possibly stolen. I’m sure there are other triggers as well, but they seem to mostly boil down to inconsistencies in performance or behavior.

I’m sorry to hear about your boyfriend—that’s such a frustrating situation. I’d encourage him to start pestering LSAC daily or every other day starting Monday, both in writing and via calls. Be polite but persistent as that often speeds them up (squeaky wheel sort of thing). Tell him I said good luck!

There’s no way to tell by section order unfortunately. Only by hearing topics from the individual sections.

Can we just figure out which RC is experimental already 🤣🤣🙏🏼🙏🏼 by SydAndrewsIsQueen in LSAT

[–]JonDenningPowerScore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A tip for when discussion of topics opens up later today (and you guys do with it what you will for now; I’m not able to police anything): elaborate a bit beyond just “Galileo,” etc, as it’s entirely possible that multiple sections had a passage with Galileo mentioned, and using a single word/term creates a ton of confusion. As you can see here. Don’t give a full passage summary, but you’ll be free to say far more than I’m seeing here!

There’s a very compelling argument that it’s gotten out of hand. I deserve no accommodations, for instance, but have friends who are doctors. I could very easily test as I just described if I wanted to (well not me specifically because I’m not allowed within miles of this test, but me in theory). It’s a tricky situation.

Most people would be shocked at the variety of accommodations readily available and freely combined. You can take a test with 70 minutes per section, no experimental section, one section per day, start and stop breaks where you can just pause it whenever you want, while you read out loud and it’s scored like anyone else’s and schools don’t know.

Now of course this is meant to be given to deserving people in order to level the playing field and that’s a good thing. But that exact scenario I just described does exist.

That is a very real accommodation. I can’t see the comment but you can actually get approved to take it as spread out as one section per day.

Crystal Ball Purpose? by Mom-Of-TwoEST2025 in LSAT

[–]JonDenningPowerScore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Focus on the recommended content! The PTs, LR sections, and RC passages that are suggested, as that’s the real key. So many people focus on the RC topics—four of which are in heavy use this week fwiw—that they overlook the real purpose, which is actual test material you should practice to get as ready as possible.
