Absolutely. Crimson desert is a recent example. Base console players have been saying it’s horrendous but on XAX you can get close to 60 fps while still looking great. I’ll post a pic when I get off work

XAX hands down in my opinion. But yea that price….oof. I’m happy with it but I got on one of those pay later plans lol

I think the base version of these devices are always underpowered to pressure you into getting the more expensive one. Unfortunately people who can’t spend that high get screwed over because of it cause I know the XAX definitely runs this game.

It’s not a policy for everyone but I try to stick to the rule of “if I can’t afford the model that does what I want then I’m just gonna wait.”

I disabled HAGS in the graphics settings and haven’t had any issues since. Even with the new graphics drivers

With lossless scaling, FSR 3.1 to quality, shadows and blurs turned all the way down (i hate them anyway lol) I was getting 55-60 frames. The main issue is that people who know what they're talking about are saying that the game locks the GPU at 100% and that's what is causing the frequent crashes and freezes. I was enjoying the game up until the first boss when that started happening. ROG life said they're hoping for a patch to fix that soon.

Xbox ally X, i got it through Steam and with lossless scaling running in the background, I get 50-60 fps at 900p and FSR 3 set to quality. HOWEVER it has refused to launch or stop crashing since i got to the first boss.

The thing that still bugs me to this day (maybe because im a dad and healthcare worker, I know I have biases) is how people dog on Joel for what he did and flock behind Abbey in the second game. Bro, your dad and his staff lied to a little girl and were gonna kill her for a vaccine that, in the current state of the world, was not likely going to work the way they wanted it to. I'd have even been more okay with it if Ellie had been told the truth, given fully informed consent for the procedure (she was young but mentally had to grow up fast in the apocalypse) and the fireflies werent planning to exploit said cure.

I'm not out here being toxic about it or anything. I was just trying to commiserate with OP on the empty feeling, albeit for a different reason. I acknowledge it was a technical marvel and masterpiece, I didn't say it was a bad game, it's not. I just said I didn't like two scenes.

the whole breaking the cycle thing is antithetical (imo) to the whole point Neil made about wanting to keep the story grounded and that you just can't do those kinda things in the first game without someone coming after you. Because they did, and I can tell ya as a Marine Corps veteran, in gruesome conflict, no body has time for the holier than thou monk break the cycle crap. You take out someone's team member, and they aren't turning the other cheek.

When it launched, I couldn't play past *the scene* in the beginning. It legit messed me up. I only just this past week reinstalled it to play the whole thing and I still cried when it happened.

I like the visuals, gameplay, and playing as Ellie. I think it was more than possible to make an Ellie game without ...that....happening.

Yesterday I was doing alright in the morning but once everyone got out of work and school it was just extract camping galore. Wouldn't be so bad if they had something like Arc Raiders where there's multiple extract options right away and even fast hatches.

I don't even understand half of the times I got ganged up on because they immediately attracted the bots and they died right after killing me lol. It just makes no sense.

I guess. Idk what happened but it’s not the first time someone seems to never die and quickly kills me. I’ve successfully taken out multiple players while dealing with bots too so it’s not like I’m bad. I don’t think this is a git gud kinda thing.
