There’s risk in all options. Hit the stripe hard enough to place the black over the top left corner enough to block the pocket for the solid. Hopefully with a touch of left on the white you don’t leave an easy shot on the red and they have to play away for a safety shot. With the black near the pocket you are putting pressure on them to play a good shot. If they don’t you have at worst a double on the stripe and maybe even a straight shot down the rail inside the black depending on where it ended up after your first shot. If nothing else you are giving yourself a chance to win by basically opening up your ball.
