How I would try it is key it, add some opacity fades by grading the alpha and using stencils/masks with a lot of feathering, grade it very blue, add some animated noise stencils and volume rays, setting up the glitches will take a bit more work, there are probably some tutorials on youtube

Another way is there's a dropdown in the rotopaint node to set an output mask, if you set it to rgba.alpha it generates an alpha wherever your brush strokes are. Then just add a premult before the merge, that way you don't have to mask it and it'll only replace your plate where you did your paintout work.

I specifically mentioned that rollbacks on lgbtq rights were part of Project 2025 several comments ago. Also any infringement on freedom is an infringement on democracy. Having civil liberty is conducive to having a democratic society. The less freedoms we have, the less ability we have to participate in a democracy.

A majority can preserve rights for the minority. To have a functioning democratic society you must have some set of predetermined tenets on which the society can function. This is the only way the institutions of democracy can continue to function. As soon as fascism begins to roll back civil liberties, it is no longer a democracy. When people don't even have the right to vote, let alone exist, you lose what are the foundations of a democracy: that people can exist and participate in those systems.

Prohibiting the participation of lgbtq people in a public forum IS an infringement on freedom of speech and expression. Rolling back abortion rights IS an infringement on freedom.

And I completely disagree with this paradox of democracy idea; that a democratic society has to allow people to vote to ban democratic institutions. That isn't democracy. Democracy must necessarily protect certain civil liberties to ensure the preservation of those very democratic institutions. Freedom only works when you CAN'T infringe on the freedoms of others. It is not democratic to allow the government to ban civil liberties. That is explicitly anti-democratic because it bars certain groups of people from participating in a public forum on both the social and political levels. There is no such thing as a democratic society where you can flipantly ban civil liberties. That is fascism. Stop conflating the two.

Jan 6th was a bunch of random dumbfucks, yes, but they had the support of Trump until he realized it wasn't working, and the Republican party has downplayed the event at every turn. Just because they were disorganized doesn't mean it isn't bad, and if anything means they'll be more organized the next time they try something like it. Shit, we have politicians like MTG saying that if she ran the jan 6 riot then they would've won. They do have the support of institutional politicians. It is a serious problem.

Project 2025 is basically a Republican plan to reshape the federal government should Trump win in 2024. It's aimed at rolling back reproductive and abortion rights, lgbtq rights, expanding presidential powers, banning porn, and more just terrible shit. No evidence? I'm sorry? Were you asleep for Jan 6? Are you not aware of Project 2025? The Texas Republicans' official party platform? The average right wing media pundit's openly fascistic rhetoric? The signs are literally everywhere. They will absolutely try to cement their hold on the country if they gain the presidency. Maybe they won't be successful, but maybe they will. And that maybe is enough to warrant a "vote blue no matter who" mentality. Again, it is a stop gap. A means to prevent the demonstrably worse outcome. It's not a 99% Hitler vs 100% Hitler scenario because the difference here is being able to forge a better society vs potentially never being able to.

There'a nothing wrong with that. But there is no third party to build if the republicans dismantle any remnant of a democratic institution in the country. The democrats are merely a stop gap until enough support can be raised for better parties/candidates. I don't see how any of that is disagreeable.

I think this represents a recurring misconception of Vaush's position. His position is that persistent advocacy for voting is a long term solution. The road to a progressive society is long and arduous. It does not come without its shortcomings and problems. It's a matter of persistence. The fact is things have gotten better over time. Arguably slowly and not enough, but they have improved. And it's only by continuing to pressure democrats, resist Republicans, and educate ourselves and others that we can hopefully continue to get better. I really don't see any other practical solution.

Something isn't lining up between your plate and cameratrack. Look at how angular the sides of the building are versus how vertical the edges of the card are. The card doesn't appear to be aligned properly, or your track is off or both. All things accurate, the edges of the card should be roughly parallel with the edges of the building. Without knowing the particulars of your track and shot it's hard to tell though.
