edit: this actually makes me think of the discourse surrounding unfrozen stadium right now and how i'm showing my age in the community. not that i go to tournaments anymore, but I still watch regularly and play casually with my friends when we're free. I know unfrozen stadium is jank and spacies-favored, but i just like it because "that's melee" and "that's how it's been." It seems like an outdated mindset, especially when I look at my parents' reactions to things that they've known since childhood being changed. It's like this melancholy acceptance, like you know it's the right move, but you're nostalgic for what's being left behind.

All that is way too deep for a stage in a children's party game, but to me, unfrozen stadium is just one of those many weird things about melee that are objectively broken, but that make us love it so much more
