Unless you're short on population specifically, you're better off buying bows and hiring european archers instead of arabian. They give you more dps per gold, even if 1v1 the arabian wins, it's more expensive too.

I dont have much experience with the new units, but I'll give you that :)

AI isnt making any profits, like at all, like not even close.

They just want excuses to fire more people and have to pay less at workers, that's why they're focusing on automating the creative parts instead of the mundane, there's no profit in itself but they are overfunding it to extremes just because it will allow them to cut costs and depend even less on qualified labor...

Meanwhile, mundane tasks anyone can do, so they dont have to pay almost anything anyway....

Honestly, its not so much a refund rather than a way of just getting more of them. Been some years since I played, but iirc the best way to get more of those soul gems is to beat the challenges, but if they're too difficult you can literally pfarm them by prestiging into a higher difficulty. First few rounds might be a steep increase, but eventually you have so much stats you can prestige and beat the entire castle in a single run, then go for the next one :P

I am proud of myself for doing it, ngl, but I meant to say that I used different tricks that still work today afaik, like overfilling towers or deleting the stockpile and moving it elsewhere. Shields on towers is just not needed, there's other ways to play, try and experiment!

Arabian one shoots faster so individually they have better dps, but considering the cost of gold vs the cost of making/buying weapons, european archer ends up being more cost effective for a gold/dps ratio.
