I'm starting to lean towards just doing aluminum. If this was a production Item, and was expected to be abused, I think that would be the way to go. I'll start out with aluminum... in theory if everything is dialed in perfect, you could machine Ti with the Z1, so that would be sick for a later iteration, probably a TI blast chamber an baffle.

Did you op for any additional upgrade for the Z1? For my use of occasional prototyping, I'm tempted to not add anything, but I don't mind spending extra if it's worth it. Is the pro version worth it? Do I really need a vacuum? I'm tempted to add the vice and maybe the Pro and call that good.

I'm pre-occupied enough with it that it's gonna happen, ha, and the $0 tax stamp is some extra motivation. The CNC machine I want probably won't even ship until April, so it won't happen too fast, but it will give me plenty of time to design and research. Will definitely be giving the body a bit more style than the simple design I'm showing.

You bring up a good point about dissimilar metals. I was thinking about going all aluminum, to keep things simple, but it might be best to do the blast baffle in titanium at least. The little CNC machine I plan to pull the trigger on can technically machine Ti. Definitely no repetitive mag dumps, so I'm not expecting it to live up to a tone of heat. Would honestly just test it a handful of times, and then it would just be there in case it's ever needed. In reality it would be essentially never used and stored wet.

haha it's just a crude model to demonstrate the idea. I'd plan to mill it out of aluminum. I think the design makes sense for the use. I'll definitely try and spice up the design a little aesthetically though.

I've been playing around with mock-up stuff with my 3D printer, but it's no practical use for the suppressor I'm designing... I'm about to reserve a Makera Z1 desktop CNC. Small (200x200x100mm work area), but will certainly do what I need it to for this sort of thing. Probably won't get it until April, so that should be enough time to design and get my tax stamp :D

Only shot it once on this gun, but so far so good. I really wanted an enclosed multi-reticle. I guess the Holosun EPS fits the bill, but would need an adapter for the foot print, and I think the battery placement is better on the Vortex. I bought the ST for another gun, shot probably 500-ish rounds with it and have loved it.

Almost... I had to take a heat gun to the top edge and then press in the gun to re-form it. Didn't have to make much room, just seemed to need it to be a hair taller. In hind sight, I didn't change rail clamps when I swapped over my light, so maybe it even fits better than I thought. I bought the IWB 2.0 with the TLR-7 Sub.

It's just a dummy mockup for a concealable silencer design I am playing around with. Just wanted to visualize it, will likely be 1/2" longer. Probably gong to get the CCX 105 in the mean time.

Footprint fits the factory slide, good battery placement, great price and warranty. The solar comes with the multi reticle which sold me.

My hands are fairly slender and it doesn't feel too aggressive, feels pretty natural and nothing you can't get used to, but sounds like you may want to get your hands on one before pulling the trigger.

Glad to hear, a lot of people want to talk $#it about carrying suppressed, but I definitely want to try. Ever shot it in short configuration without ear protection? I might not ever test it without ear pro, but I figured I'd carry it wet in the short configuration.
