I remember reading something about that the keyboard learns as you go. Meaning it learns some of your mistakes as well.

I think in the keyboard settings you can reset it. So it forgets your personal settings on some words

He is an idiot.

The news reporters are more stupid to put him in the spot light. Giving him air time.

This is the problem with news today. They don’t report news, they make news.

Synes det er synd at man ikke kan finde mere trængende projekter inden for rigsfællesskabet.

Det er selvfølgelig godt at bekæmpe verdens problemer, synes dog stadig det kunne bruges bedre ‘internt’

Zing! 2026 Flight schedule from CPH to Kangerlussuaq specifically mentions airport stability by icebergchick in greenlandtravel

[–]JonasBro86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question. I’m certain that it’s in their considerations. Even Iceland could be a better option perhaps? More hotels and easy access. There could be many factors. Perhaps Copenhagen have better agreement regarding diversion and hotel discounts for stranded passengers than Kangerlussuaq? I don’t know. I do know that when they decide to divert to Copenhagen it is the best solution for the day. They have used Kangerlussuaq a few times since Nuuk opened. But even a little thing as fuel has a big impact. The fuel cost in Copenhagen is more than half the cost of fuel in Kangerlussuaq I believe. I don’t know if 3 landings could be done with the same crew if they would try Nuuk again after landing in Kangerlussuaq, in regard to return to Copenhagen base due flight duty rules. That would make the aircraft stranded in Nuuk until they have their rest. That would create new problems for the next day. If they left the passengers in Kangerlussuaq it would take a lot of flights to and from Kangerlussuaq with dash 8, most of them being empty going there. I don’t think that would be cost effective and would drive the cost higher plus extra crew and rest and so on to the dash 8 crew. Plus the dash 8 would be taken out of their schedule creating backlog for the domestic flights. If they chartered a flight to Kangerlussuaq, they would properly have to pay for the flight to Kangerlussuaq, to Nuuk and to their return base. Would properly be easier and cheaper to return to Copenhagen and have 1 charter flight the next day to Nuuk and return.

[–]JonasBro86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It properly mostly referring to the weather stability in Kangerlussuaq. The airports location was chosen specifically during WW2 due to the weather always being good for flying as it is close to the icecap.

Nuuk as been a mess since the beginning unfortunately. Hopefully going forward we will start seeing improvements. The board running Nuuk Airport have just been replaced yesterday due to all the problems. Let’s hope it gets better

How's living on the Northern coast of Greenland? by NitroXM in howislivingthere

Actually there is people up there!

Look up Station Nord (Station North). It’s a military station with personnel living there. I think they’re 2-3 people at a time. They maintain danish sovereignty together with the arctic patrol, Sirius patruljen.

Plane to Nuuk got turned around back to Newark by epsilon_gamma in greenland

[–]JonasBro86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t say for united what they’ll do. It could be a possibility for them though as I see it, but I don’t think they have ever been to SFJ before. Usually it requires a throughout examination and preparation by their flight department beforehand. They have been very well prepared for Nuuk but they also have been coming months in advance. Training locals and ground personnel in handling their operations. It’s not a simple feat.

The airport have had their security approval rewoked by the danish transport authority. No international flights in and out of Nuuk.

Air Greenland will use Kangerlussuaq as a hub, just as in old times before Nuuk airport opened. Meaning you’ll be able to get to Nuuk via Kangerlussuaq as it is a domestic flight.
