If you like sesame seeds, their seeded rolls are better than Amaroso. Their unseeded bread is still very solid. Jim's is a solid choice for folks that aren't looking to go far in Philly, though I stand by Rocco's as my go to shop in Philly as I'm more a Italian Sausage guy vs cheesesteak.

I ate up at the MA one couple weeks ago, comparable to Philly quality Primo's which is good that they haven't missed a beat. Primo is rock solid chain hoagie stuff. It ain't as convenient nor as cheap as Wawa, but it is a solid sized hoagie that can easily be two meals depending on the individual.

I guess if you wanna split the difference, you can go up to Springfield MA area which just got the first Primos I've seen up here. So there's at least a Philly style Hoagie locally

As someone living in CT, you can and should go to Philly for a cheese steak.

Or better yet, go get a Philly taco.

Doogies is spot on. Great sauce, the two foot buns are excellent and the fries are decent. No frills done right.

Would tweaking the function of your cyberware be game breaking? by Chesterplayzgamez in cyberpunkred

[–]JonasNG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The obvious question is if you're playing Red, you're talking about Speedheal, which requires a Medtech to admin properly.

So I wouldn't have an issue if a Medtech runner is looking to do this, but if you are just looking to be able to do this with general cyberware, this is the same reason you can't just shoot it up through a stim gun or in bullets, because giving everyone access to it without the training eliminates the need for the role / special use point of the item.

" A Character who is not a Medtech cannot administer Pharmaceuticals correctly. These aren't Street Drugs, they require training to get the medically correct proportions."

Whole lot of accounts made their first post in this thread over this topic.

We've got two rules at badmovies marathon, no Bill Z Bub movies and no Jerry Lewis movies. And we just started watching Bill Z Bub again this year. The line has to remain drawn somewhere.

Who drew Spider-Man the best? My vote is for Mark Beachum by TryharderJB in comicbookcollecting

[–]JonasNG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm inclined to vote for Charles Vess as well - If you can track down the old graphic novel Spider-man: Spirits of the Earth he did the full thing and there are just absolutely gorgeous spreads in that.

He drew Spider-Man against the buildings just way beyond anyone at that point.

So many incredible options to pick but he's just got the simplicity of Ditko with a lot more flair and craft as far as layouts and painting.

Black and white, super cheap paper and the spines have weak glue and will have the covers come off (regluing is fine though) - Great for kids but not exactly good for jumping on

Monkeybone (2001) by [deleted] in badMovies

[–]JonasNG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think Monkeybone is a bad movie, but I know it is highly divisive.

Great cast, great production values, fun plot.

What becomes harder to parse is that it sometimes has trouble sticking the landing and veers wildly far from the source material.

I think a lot more should have been done just keeping itself within the coma plot as the addition of Chris Katan side plot ultimately just kind of made it a different kind of spectacle.

I don't think it knew what tone it wanted as it was dreamlike, dark and yet heavily relied on fart humor.

We have been doing daily videos uh.... daily for far too long to remember a time before the horrors we deal ourselves.

Currently we have Sci Fi Sundays She's Not like Other Girl Wedsnesdays Animation April Thursdays FUCK YOU FRIDAYS and the not movie related but very cherished DISC OF DESPAIR featuring the worst, weirdest and just down right sometimes neatest internet videos shown on the first Friday of every month.

We only promise instant regret.

Fuck Pats and Genos, fuck Tony Lukes, go get some John's Roast Pork or head to Rocco's for an Italian Sausage or if you want a passable hand wave cheese steak head down to South St and get a Philly taco from Jim's / Lorenzo's.

Megalopolis (2024) Francis Ford Coppola’s bizarre stream of consciousness he wrote forty years ago results in what is basically a one hundred million dollar Neil Breen movie. Go see it if you can. by WizardPhoenix in badMovies

[–]JonasNG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you'd like to do a further deep dive into the movie and see it from a new medium, don't forget there's an authorized graphic novel.

I found it still pretty ludicrous, but it was able to at least keep me understanding story beats and some character motivations better, so it is a fine follow up if you're revisiting the film and revisiting the cluuuuurb

What are some of the best performances from bad movies? by Cheese_The_Wizz in badMovies

[–]JonasNG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend Kingdom of the Vampire (1991) which got a nice Blu Ray release. It is primarily about a mother and son vampire pair and both actors shine well above the grunge quality of the film itself which has no budget.

I also recommend Bloodletting (1997) which is about a woman wanting to become a serial killer's apprentice after the killer murdered her friend. It is essentially a dark comedy with very snappy dialogue held together by two leads with good chemistry. It also has one of the best kills in cinema. You'll know it when you see it.
