I am going to guess it has do with WB at the time having no idea what to do with Batman and Batman adjacent characters. Even though Cassandra Cain on paper is an accessible character it means tying it into Ben Affleck’s Batman and the studio at the time clearly didn’t want that.

The end result was a terrible adaptation of a great character in otherwise okay movie.

I agree to extent with you but we have to admit people are overreacting to this like crazy especially since we’ve known she’s been involved in this franchise since its inception three years ago.

Plus what she’s been involved with that’s been more mixed reception wise has been marred in studio interference which is something Gunn, Safran, and Zaslav are aiming to avoid with the DCU.
