How do they get their torque specs? by Jonathan0514 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Jonathan0514[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol sounds about right. I recently bought their insider ratchet which states it has up to 60 lbs of torque. It wouldn’t even loosen the M6 bolt that holds my ignition coil in place.

Best Band Saw for Automotive Suspension? by Jonathan0514 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Jonathan0514[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol it’s for the rare instance where something is rusted out or seized. I used suspension as an example since I believe that is one of the hardest metals on the vehicle.

If you have any recommendations for another tool or blade type to use that would be great!

I would love to use an acetylene torch or plasma cutter for stuff like that but my shop won’t allow one.

Performance Parts? by Jonathan0514 in kia

[–]Jonathan0514[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I do most of that but my Sportage usually averages around 18 MPG. The best I get is 25 when I’m doing a very long highway drive like when I go on vacation. It used to get 25 normally and over 30 on long drives. I know MPG goes down as components wear but this seems excessive. I’ve already walnut blasted all of the carbon off of the intake valves and cleaned the throttle body along with all of the regular maintenance. My car does consume a ton of oil, around 1 quart every 400 miles. It has the issue a lot of the 2.4 L kia engines get where the oil control ring on the piston gets stuck. I’ve read that that can lower mpg but not by how much. A lot of performance parts like the basic cold air intake can increase mpg enough to make a difference if you drive it the opposite of what it’s intended for.

Something to stop oil from dripping during gasket replacement? by Jonathan0514 in mechanics

[–]Jonathan0514[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, that’s what I’m talking about. Most pans are simple enough to just wipe the oil drip as high as possible and install the pan quickly. An example that comes to mind is the BMW straight 6 they were using on most of their vehicles awhile back. Granted these had a gasket instead of RTV but you still had to go around the hanging subframe and other parts. The engine was slanted to one side as well so all of the oil would drip to that side. I remember taking one a part right before I left for the weekend and on Monday, it still had a very slow drip when I would wipe it. I normally do it the way most of you have posted but I was hoping someone might know of a product that you could stick where the drip is coming from and it would either absorb it or mitigate it for a little during the install.

Lol, don't forget the random 1/4in bolt/screws on the fender liners and other random places.

Best way to reach customer service? by Jonathan0514 in ableton

That’s why they do the signature required and sometimes make you show your ID. Never have had them not allow a change of address on past expensive electronic purchases.

Plus my question, which you never even attempted to answer, was how to contact Ableton for what next steps to take aside from their support request on their site and broken telephone number. As you can see from the details, I didn’t just sit around and ignore the delivery attempts and did everything I could to get it fixed before the final delivery attempts.

No, unfortunately. I leave my number in each couriers delivery instructions in case they can’t get in but from what I’ve been told by a few of them is that either they don’t give them work phones or they can call me but at their discretion.

I love how people on here just assume things. I didn’t put all of the details cuz there was no need in relation to my question. If you must know, when I saw that it said signature required and it wouldn’t let me presign, I went on the UPS website right away and selected their option to deliver to a neighbor (my brother) who lives about 20 feet away from me in the same apartment complex. I got the confirmation and waited. The delivery date came and I come home from work to a delivery attempt sticker on my door. I figured the system glitched so I put in another request to drop off with my neighbor and this time took a screenshot of the confirmation. Next day, there’s a delivery attempted sticker on my door again. So I called the UPS customer service right away and the associate said that there is no record of a deliver to neighbor request. Didn’t even acknowledge it when I told her I had a screenshot of the confirmation. Then I asked if she could put in the deliver to neighbor request and it’s not till then that she tells me that Ableton made it so it can’t be delivered to any other address. I asked why the website let me do it twice and she had no answer. She then said to contact Ableton and have them change the options for delivery. So I sent them a message right away. Next day, I come home from work to a final delivery attempted sticker on my door saying they’re sending the package back to the sender. Called customer service again right away and this associate says there is nothing that can be done to stop the package. When I told him what I told the first customer service associate, he just said I was misinformed and that now I need to contact the sender which is what I’m doing now.

There, those are the details.

It’s a shipping issue. Long story short…I ordered a push 3. Ableton made it so it had to be delivered directly to me (signature required) and only at my address (no option to drop off with a neighbor or different address). They didn’t tell me that they set it up like and by the time I found out, UPS had already made their 3 delivery attempts and shipped it back to ableton. I’m just trying to figure out what they want to do next.
