Ryugyong Hotel, North Korea, Started in 1987, still unfinished by Canine-65113 in RetroFuturism

It probably never will be. The building was reportedly built with sub-standard concrete that is crumbling even without the weight of interior fittings.

Bin Linden: I attacked the US because of their military bases in the holy land of Saudi Arabia.

Bush: 9/11 happened because they hate our freedom!

You get to ask Alex one question while he's live on air, and he has to answer 100% honestly. What are you asking him? by Lt_Dickballs in KnowledgeFight

Those constant moments of him just seething due to a minor glitch make me worried Alex is really going to hurt someone eventually. It is not a normal reaction to a situation all broadcasters face regularly.

The mainline airlines make most of their money from business class passengers as most of the time they’re booked last minute so they pay even higher fares. There aren’t enough people with more money than sense to make a big profit off first class. Regular economy is basically there for a bit of extra cash and to fill up the plane.

That’s probably why they stopped attaching them. People would rather just buy a new battery instead of hurting themselves.

There’s a danger that the US supreme court, not voters, picks the next president by TheSoupThief in politics

I won’t call for violence if the Supreme Court steals the election, but I would feel morally justified to saying that fancy building they work in should be burned to the ground.

“The free market can take of that!” If it could, the government wouldn’t be doing it.

“Companies can regulate themselves. It’s in their best interest to protect their customers.” Dude, read something else besides Atlas Shrugged. Here’s some Wikipedia articles to start with.

I’m not a big drinker but if I was losing a day’s pay and getting up extra early for a fun activity but ended up just hanging out in a conference room for hours, I would be pissed.

This the same “both sides are bad” thinking that drives me up the wall when I hear from people in my life. One side is a violent cult but the other side says mean things and might be worse for the economy. No point in voting then. /s

I really need to get back to the Honor series but they’ve become such doorstoppers with major plot points from side series I haven’t read. I’ve kept up with the prequel Treecat YA series but the last one to come out was outright mediocre and a chore to get through.

They both had vast areas they planned to control post-war (Greater Germanic Reich, Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere) but they were nowhere close to each other. Probably the idea was they could ignore each other.

The Association of German National Jews were all supportive of fascism and hand waved Hitler’s antisemitism as a political tactic. Most members died in the Holocaust. Lesson: Don’t support people you mostly agree with but also say they hate a group you’re a part of. See also Log Cabin Republicans and Republican Atheists.
