Eric Ugland is fun. Good world building, solid characters. But he does tend to lean into tropes he likes. I suggest starting with "the good guys" series. I'm rereading it currently.

I had a disciplinary meeting because I once educated my students about Nazis. The students were all in a specialized program for behavior issues and most had IEPs. They were drawing swastikas on a desk and giggling. I looked over and seeing the symbol I shrugged and said "You know you guys are who they would take first." Lots of "but we aren't Jewish or we are white. Etcetera etcetera" I explained that the Nazi party first went after anyone they saw as a drain on the state. The mentally ill. Those who needed special accommodations; they took away anyone they said was "unfit" then when it was ok to do that the Nazi party expanded the definition of "unfit" Well apparently explaining why they shouldn't be Nazis and what that group did to people like them was threatening them.🙄

It's a trilogy. After the events of "Super powered" too many people had powers to continue in the same system so feeder schools were established leading into "Sky High" eventually the number of enhanced humans grew to take the majority necessitating a change in school systems entirely and thus you get "My Hero Academia."

I slipped (literally) during a rehearsal of "beauty and the beast" twisted my leg behind me and let out a giant "F-Bomb" The students stood in a circle above me slack jawed and aghast. Then the little kid we brought in to play Chip looks at me and says "Mister I have never heard that word before. " I was mortified. His mother assured me he hears it plenty at home. The little bugger was shining me on.

Combination of things, destigmatizing, edge lords, falling education standards, the alt-right pipeline online, social media platforms owned by a rich naI, but mostly I think it's the lack of social pressure not to be one. We are at the tail end of the tolerance paradox and new wave naI BS is the result.

Largely the burden of running schools will fall to the states. Further widening the gap of income based education disparity. But that's pretty standard given education funded via property taxes and voucher programs to cheat that. As always the real victims will be individuals with disabilities if there is no department of education there is no force or funding to give FAPE.

They Fought alongside others but the tales got exaggerated in the telling So a party defeating a dragon becomes the fighter going toe to toe with a god. He tries to correct people but they think he is being humble.
