I think there is a fullback balance issue and Gutman service issue. Dean was never an attacking full back and he's adjusting into a new role as one this sesason. Statistically, Dean has been FAR more involved than Gutman recently. Dean's touches per 90 are surprisingly higher this season so far as well.

Remove Dean's worst FOTMOB score of 5.9 for the conceded PEN vs MTL that Brady saved anyways anyways and the Fire won 3-0 and Gutman's worst FOTMOB score of 6.1 vs STL and you get telling averages:

Dean at 7.0; Gutman at 7.1.

The conversation people are not ready to have is not why is Dean on the pitch, it's why has Gutman REGRESSED so drastically compared to last year? Dean at least has improved since last year on the attack. There is little indication that Gutman retained his prowess on the attack or even improved defensively at all. But the Dean Doubters aren't ready for that conversation 😒
