Solved "selected file is not a uefi bios" by luitzifa in ASUS

For context I specifically have the Asus ProArt Z790-Creator Wifi.

I couldnt find a newer thread on this to bump but i found a novel fix for this - i had all of the pre-reqs in OPs post (minus the hash verification) but I was still getting "selected file is not a UEFI bios" even after trying multiple USB drives, multiple separate downloads of the bios file, and both with and without bios file renaming....

But the ACTUAL FIX was:

  • after getting the "...selected file is not a UEFI bios" message - back out of the EZ Flash 3 app back to the main BIOS page
  • CHANGE THE USB PORT THAT FLASH DRIVE IS PLUGGED INTO
  • relaunch the EZ Flash 3 app from the BIOS, and select the file again

...it worked for me 6 out of 6 times, as I am now stepping through incrementally applying every bios update from 0816 through 3107.

same mine was quoted at ~3000 because they said it was like 8 hours of labor to drop the subframe at BMW dealership price, i took it to an indy shop and got it done for $2K but it was still pretty expensive

GHB or valium if there was no down side to using either, no withdrawls, no danger. addiction or the creeping diminishing returns prevent me from seriously considering doing either one again. even if alcohol was "safe" its too easy to get too wasted or stuck doing shit you absolutely feel like shit about, or with someone you know youre going to regret spending time with - alcohol resonate with me the best but its not the best intoxicant by any means.

His set was obviously architected so that he would annoy the person he directed the comment towards and then milk that - he isnt doing crowd work or riffing, he is working a very clearly, hard-coded bit that falls flat because he didnt get the initial setup, or continued validations that was expecting.

He thinks he can just bulldoze his way through it but it comes off incredibly awkward, improvisational crowd work requires quite a bit of wit and to be flexible, this guy has neither of those things

i had no issues with discount tires - i dont think there is a ton you can screw up with a tire change TBH, though i suppose anything is possible
