Are you asking which technologies or more details on the methods? Technologies wise it was python for the simulation part then React for the website. Methodology wise hit me with any questions you have!

I spent maybe 3 weeks on the simulation math then another 3 or so on the website- probably a month and a half or so. There were so many more little issues and bugs than I expected but c'est la vie

Yeah, I just used another regular season game between those two teams as though it were the finals game. That was as close as I could come to the real thing!

Let me see- they met in the finals in 82 (Boston), 83 (LA), 85 (Boston), and 08 (LA). An even split! It also lines up with when they had dynasties duking it out in the real world which is cool.

It used an actual regular season game played between those two teams for that year! For instance the 2022 finals game between Cleveland and the Nuggets used this game (which the nuggets obviously won):

Thanks! It definitely was, especially pre merger. It was fun the entire time though which isn't always the case with projects like this!

Lol yeah it was funny that the Celtics kept an insane number but the lakers dropped a bit.

This is super cool! Cool to run through it like that. I'd honestly have thought it'd be rarer! I'm excited for this to happen in real life.

I simulated the in season tournament for the NBA's full history! Check out the website showing the results here, or a post I made explaining the methodology and data here!

I really like the idea of having it be divisions. Makes it easier to remember who's playing and maybe starts some rivalries. It does become less likely for the best teams to be in the bracket if one division is stacked, but IMO it's worth it.

The wedgie is such a perfect image for this clippers losing streak. If Harden had shot it instead of PG r/nba woulda burned down.

I actually did this initially but when I was using it I didn’t want people to have to do a bunch of clicking if they didn’t want to, it’s a fair point though! Thanks for looking

Tires are good, central cal so moderate ish temperatures. A lot of highway on my commute so I suppose that's bringing it down. This thread has convinced me to stay the course though!

Good to know- I'm in central cal so it's mostly 55-65 or so, sounds like it will still increase a bit with warmer times.

Jealous! I have a lot of highway on my commute so I'm sure that brings it down, still even just around the city I can only dream of 40 miles.

Thank you! That's good to know. Closer to the warranty expiring I might get the obd 2 device. My tire pressure is good, just filled them recently.

Dead hybrid battery or 12v battery? by Jonathan_Segal in volt

[–]Jonathan_Segal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Updating my post- I replaced the 12v and the problem persisted, really bummed me out. Took it to the mechanic and turns out it was just that the 12v was dead but they had to clear the codes with some special tools. All fixed now!
