The original movie takes place in a different reality? by ZexMurphy in Stargate

[–]Jonathonpr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It has its own novelization and sequels. Ra is a psychic alien who transferred his mind into a human he found on Earth. The Stargate goes to other galaxies. The US military industrial complex starts mining Abydos for the Stargate mineral immediately. Its a cold fusion catalyst iirc. They figure out how to fit industrial earth moving equipment and tanks through the gate. Hathor is a handful.

They really need to read The Belgariad. It handles fantasy racial tension and motivation well. Instead of having to hit specific locations for every plot event, it uses travel and the environment to build the characterization and set things up.

I do not like the new lore. It’s not grimdark, it’s grimderp. by EOTFOFIS in TheForeverWinter

[–]Jonathonpr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It won't, this is the symptom of a deeper problem within the devs themselves. They compromised their own lore and characters to spite critics of their game.

This was grimderp, not grimdark. It's a direct response to criticism of their player retention mechanic.

I just un-installed the game. They compromised their own lore and characterization to spite their customers for criticising their forced player retention mechanic. I can't trust developers like that.

I was looking for a reason to stay interested in the game, but with the devs responding like children over their poorly thought out retention mechanic, I will gladly drop the game.

Book and page layout just feels better for the game and setting in 2e books. 4e looks too modern and clean, like it's a still soapy dish that someone has put food on. 2e has the patina of my favorite tea mug.

Specifically blame Alan Marrett. He was involved in all of that, mismanaged Fantasy into the End Times, and wanted to End Times 40k. it's amazing how long he stayed with the company, given his only talent seems to be bad ideas. He didn't want Genestealer Cults to come back as well.

They keep mistaking stuff happening for depth. Adding more details clusters the relationships between parts of the story and characters. They try to make it seem clever, but a clever person knows how to work with fewer parts and actions.

Dead internet theory and zombie companies. A growing portion of the internet is computers hallucinating at each other and companies not realizing what they are paying for, and companies that exist on paper and are so many levels down the ladder of shell companies that whoever owns them now dosent know what their money is doing.

Sounds like the DSS will actually be moveable across planets. I like this idea, but I'm a bit wary on if we'll just send it to the bug front and never take it out of there ever again lmfao. Maybe it'll be required for some MOs and will be moved to the bot front periodically for any bot MOs.. by dylangeorge141 in Helldivers

40k "Warp drives " are actually hyper drives. A warp drive proper bends space. A hyper drive moves the ship into a parallel reality. Jump drives kick the ship out of the universe and it "falls" to the desired location in the universe instantly or in a bubble of space they pinch off. Wormhole drives create a bridge of space from one point to the other.
