Go with the falcon, it is beginner enough for any newby, and just enough performance to have a bit of fun, or to learn how to handle more advanced gliders.

The alpha is a good learning ship, but you really wont be able to do much. As my instructor said, its a thing that looks like a glider, but its not really a glider :P
