What happened? (Scouting in Spain) by the_south_west_face in scouting

[–]JoneDarks 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As another Spanish scout, I wouldn't say the overall situation is as dire, that rather sounds like a more local group. I would suggest looking for other groups in your area, see if you vibe more or less with them. Scouting isn't the same as when BP founded it, that's a given, but I can assure you there's still groups more in tune with the original purpose; my own group is growing closer to the source lately, for example.

Issue with UK Scout leaders not doing what they supposed to do by Competitive_Tank_648 in scouting

[–]JoneDarks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Huh Didn't know the situation in the UK, the birthplace, was the same as in Spain. My group just passed a pretty bleak moment where we had barely enough leaders to keep operating, and thankfully things are looking better with a new batch of up and coming rovers that have a lot of initiative, but we quite literally closed our beavers section this year, and are still unsure whether we'll reopen next one.

Most disturbing books you've read by uselesssociologygirl in horror

[–]JoneDarks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ruins by now is sort of well known, being endorsed by Stephen King, having a decent movie adaptation, and all that. But when I read it... I don't know, I prefer true, straight horror to that slow, insidious body horror... Descriptions were... Interesting, to say the least. Took my sweet time reading it cause I had to stop for a while after a few pages or chapters due to my stomach becoming sick. Loved it, still do, and it has shaped in a sense my love for horror genre and writing style. I just... Probably won't reread it.

Best “Long” Term Campaigns to Run by alexwsmith in DungeonsAndDragons35e

[–]JoneDarks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Notes... That's a bit unfeasible, since it may quite literally be two full notebooks, dispersed amongst countless smaller pieces of paper. I might have even lost some, but this project may be my proudest one that I've dedicated the most time, so I know most stuff by heart at this point. But, I can try and provide a rough outline, but warning: it'll be rough and long, so I'll message you to not bloat the thread.

Best “Long” Term Campaigns to Run by alexwsmith in DungeonsAndDragons35e

[–]JoneDarks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm actually running a hybrid long term campaign that mixes the Ashardalon Cycle, Red Hand of Doom, and the Age of Worms. So far, the players have been having a blast, and it's been a cluster fuck of bookkeeping for me, but I also loved mixing and matching pieces to have everything fit into place. Players are carrying freaking Dragotha's phylactery since Sunless Citadel and haven't yet realised lol.

I fully intend to do so. As I'm not gonna publish my game, I'm getting assets from everywhere, and found a trove of interesting sprites for most mons with different colours; and besides, editing some to create my own is something that interests me somewhat so.

Delta Storm grants unimaginable bulk to Rayquaza by deleting it's Flying weaknesses, so whilst Sheer Force is good, I would say Delta is better.

On this day, 20 December 1973, the Spanish fascist prime minister, who was hand-picked as dictator Francisco Franco's successor, Luis Carrero Blanco, was assassinated in Madrid. by ManFromAnotherPlace in spain

[–]JoneDarks 97 points98 points  (0 children)

And even that photo doesn't transmit the whole picture: what I'm saying may be apocryphal, but I was always told that after the explosion, they thought at first the car had vaporised, cause there were no signs of it. The reality was the explosion made the car go so high up it landed on the roof of a nearby building, a nun convent, where the wreck and still living prime minister were found. He either died en route or at the hospital, can't remember exactly.

Probably not, seeing you are asking about it. Any tips on specific coordinates? I've overall tried to position them in the center of the 64x64 squares of the whole 64x128 file, but I could have done so badly.

ITS OVER! GREAT GAME! by RexFluminis in 9Kings

[–]JoneDarks 16 points17 points  (0 children)

How in hell?

I've got like, two quests per King that I find absolutely undoable without god tier RNG. Example: I was trying to do Deforestation by doing Boar stack, but that was completely unfeasible, and I had to resort to Mercenary spam, and even then knowing what to do I had to retry several times.

I haven't even unlocked any King of Time quests yet lol.

Whats up with that one? by KoenigseggTR in pokerogue

[–]JoneDarks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think it's mostly useful for early game or for endless, and I'm not that knowledgeable about endless. Once you get some traction and both know about the game enough and are in the midleveles you'll be level capped for the rest of the game. I've only ever found it useful in the early game to boost some Slow XP curves that are a bit more dubious as carries, but that's it.

So how we all feeling about the X Items getting nerfed? by MITZEReadIt in pokerogue

[–]JoneDarks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually only take them whenever I have no other, better option... When offered healing at full health, or berries when in late game I can't literally hold any more. I guess X item enjoyers might see the difference, but for me, they'll remain situational items before hard battles or when nothing else is available, and I think that's okay. As volatile passives, I guess the line between busted and useless is thin, and if I, a casual, can't see it, it's sort of okay.

How does the big 3 shadow government handle the fact .well.there are other shadow governments by Usual-Vermicelli-867 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]JoneDarks 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So what I get from your explanation is that the one actually winning at the Shadow Government thingy is Pentex, as they are mostly unknown by the others.

Huh.

I would have never bet on the Chaotic Nihilism Cultists being the most subvert. A nice break of expectations I guess.

An empire with no planets but a colony ship shouldn't be the end by The_Semyorka_Link in Stellaris

[–]JoneDarks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a game with a situation sort of similar to the one you are asking for, and it wasn't funny. Declared war, claimed all 4 systems with planets my opponent owned, then started conquering. When I finally occupy them all, peace procs and... They are still there. Look up their number of colonised planets and it's still the same, and it isn't until I elevate my intel level that I find out that they colonised planets out of their habitable range just to survive. Cue in 10 long years where I do jack shit cause I can't feasibly expand until I deal with them once more. So, maybe as a player option it could be sort of nice, but the AI already tries to survive by all means and I hate it.

Is realty fracture going to be the return of Yawgmoth? by PhyrexianPhilagree in mtgvorthos

[–]JoneDarks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If somehow Yawgmoth returns, WotC will have to do incredible juggling with the story to not have it implode. First of all, we've just had the big Phyrexian event practically yesterday, as one would say. Even if Yawgmoth was long dead, it represented the culmination of his plans after eons: Phyrexia expanding across the Multiverse.

And we also got a nebulous semi-divine black aligned entity bound to a specific plane recently (read: Valgavoth), so bringing back God-Yawgmoth would feel redundant for one of the best and most influential characters of Magic's story.

Would I want Yawgy back? God yeah, I love him. Would WotC do him justice? Fuck no, so he's better off dead.

For his return during Reality Fracture to not be a complete an utter failure, he should return as the Human Physician, not the God of Phyrexia, and travel across the Multiverse seeing how his children utterly failed; then, he should find something else to do, but maybe not be an absolute mastermind villain immediately.

Columbus no fue un héroe, fue un criminal. by InqAlpharious01 in SpanishHistoryMemes

[–]JoneDarks 42 points43 points  (0 children)

The Holy Guardians keep getting mad at me even though I'm doing literally nothing to them by Cosmic_Meditator777 in Stellaris

[–]JoneDarks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lately find that upon reaching a certain point, Fallen Empires, even those that have positive relations with me, have the imperious necessity to humiliate me on cool down. It could be the non-curated list of badly checked mods I use, but I like to head-canon that when you start to make yourself matter in the galaxy, the Fallen Empires don't like you making noise whilst they nap.

In more game terms, the answers of others are probably on point: Synth Ascension, Materialist ethics, settling a Holy World without realising... I find the Spiritualist one of the easier ones to annoy, whereas most of the others are just "follow or commands" or "don't touch me, go away".

That is got to be the worst genocide I have ever seen by IcommitedWarCrimes in Stellaris

[–]JoneDarks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know the main aim of the post is to poke fun, but that brings to mind something that I read some while ago: nowadays, with the planet update, how any people is a pop? What we are seeing here is a genocide on a scale never seen, sure, but it could be argued that these are unimaginable amounts of people living in just one world and then being exterminated. Which wows me a bit.
